This version is pretty good and comes with a level select/3D effects, but I'm just not the biggest fan of this game. I love the weirdo graphics and the few tracks here are catchy as hell, but it's so fast and frustrating that I never fully got the hang of it.

I would have never be able to beat this one in the original version.

Space Harrier is a great game, especially if we take in mind the context in which it was originally released. There really was no game like this back then.
But it’s hard. Arcade hard. The amount of stuff you have to dodge whilst still trying to shoot things is insane, leading me to uncountable deaths.

So, whilst obviously doable, I don’t really think I have the necessary skills to beat it as one should. If it weren’t for the benefits brought by this port (I’m specifically talking about the stage selection screen), I probably would have never seen the end of it.
For that reason, I just can’t give the game a higher rating, but that’s completely on me and my poor arcade gaming skills.

But, yeah, it’s Space Harrier, and it’s fun. Great port by M2, as always.

Great port. Great game. It is incredible how good could be arcade games 30 years ago. Thanks SEGA :)
