a bit of a pain to play by nature of being an 80s coin op that desperately wants your money. it's badass tho and i can't think of any other game from the time with active dismemberment shit. that's pretty rad. exploitation movie ass game

It boots up and plays. Beyond that, it's stupid shock horror (for the time).

Exidy: Make this as controversial as we can since we're nearly bankrupt.
Also Exidy: makes it TOO controversial that no one was interested in buying the arcade.

A load of shit and no mistake. This has the dubious honour of being banned in several countries. They went after it for its gratuitously over the top gore, when they really should have been more angry about the gameplay.

It's a single screen shooter where for the first couple of levels you have to rack up the points by throwing bullets into various torture victims. Trying to kill them quickly, severing body parts, and pasting the walls with their blood. After those are dispatched you move on to more supernatural creatures such as zombies. They've even thrown in some bonus levels, just in case the "fun" wasn't enough.

This game did more damage to gaming's reputation than ET I swear.

A load of shit and no mistake.

Okay yeah I see why people were mad.

The arcade machine itself feels amazing but those first two levels are just like, pointlessly grotesque even by my standards. The last two are really charming, but the third level, Hallway, is really tight on targets for the time it gives by the third round of levels and takes a lot of the fun out. If the whole game had been more like stage four I think I would have really liked it.
