Wow, this might just be the worst remake I've ever played.

The menu looks like it was thrown together in 5 minutes, some text is unreadable as it's white on white backgrounds. There are almost no settings, you can't even change the speed units from Imperial to Metric.

When you start the championship, I don't get why they give you information about the track, seeing as how there's completely no tuning in this game. It just says "100% gravel" and like okay? I can't change my tires, what do you want me to do with that information?

The graphics are somehow worse than in the 1998 original! Sure, the car models look fine, but everything else is the on the level of a GBA game (except in higher resolution ofc). You're basically driving through a tunnel, all the detail of the environment is gone, there's just walls with forest textures. Except they also tinted and bloomed the hell out of this game. The first stage, which is in Australia, is completely pink. In addition, unless you select Low Quality (which is one of the only two graphical settings in the game) in the launcher, the game will have so much motion blur, it's near-unplayable.

You can only select one car, the rest need to be unlocked. And the same for the stages. So you kinda have no choice but to play through the atrocious championship.

The camera modes are laughable. The POV in the cockpit view is from the dashboard POV. You can't even see your steering wheel or your speedometer! What is the point? It's basically the same as the bonnet view, except with a tinted grey filter, which is supposed to represent the windshield.

The handling and physics are also much worse than in the original. Which is bizarre, because the series has improved so much since, you'd think they'd implement more modern physics. But if they're too lazy to do that, at the very least they could've just taken the original game, improved the graphics a bit and called it a day. The original still plays better than most modern racing games.

I have no idea why this exists. Was this made for mobiles? Any phone that can handle this game, can emulate the original.

not a bad game actually but its really uninspiring and boring as hell so whatever you do please buy DIRT or WRC series instead of this
