Crackdown is an open world, third-person shooter video game for the Xbox 360. Set in the fictional Pacific City, the player controls a biologically enhanced Agent, tasked with defeating three crime lords and their organized crime syndicates. The Agent's abilities improve by defeating both crime lords and their supporters, as well as by completing optional activities, such as street races and scavenger hunts. The gameplay is nonlinear: instead of following a rigid mission sequence, players are free to select the approach to completing their missions and activities. The game features a two-player cooperative play mode via Xbox Live.
Crackdown, initially planned for release on the original Xbox console, was envisioned as a vast world in which players could experiment and explore freely. Microsoft Game Studios bundled specifically marked copies of Crackdown with an access code to the multiplayer test version of the much-anticipated Halo 3 Beta. The game sold 1.5 million copies in its first six months of release because everybody wanted to play Halo 3. It received positive reviews and has garnered several awards for its innovative gameplay. Crackdown was a free download (for Xbox Live Gold members only) from August 1st, 2013 to August 16th, 2013 as part of the Xbox 360 "Games With Gold" (Xbox Live) program.

if u aren't playing this on 9/11 ur doing it rong

Crackdown is a simple and somewhat shallow game that somehow still pulled me in long enough to complete it. There's not much for narrative, but if you enjoy seeing the instant gratification of watching your character grow stronger, faster, larger, and more deadly simply by causing mayhem, then it's definitely something you'll enjoy. The game's biggest hook for me was the first time that I collected enough agility orbs to level up, and I was immediately able to run much faster and jump 5ft higher than before. From then on, I just kept chasing that high. The main downside is that you max out your stats very quickly and will be dissapointed they wouldn't let you go further. The game's difficulty is handled poorly with long, annoying deathruns to a boss you will be able to stun lock and kill with only 5-6 melee attacks. It's also a very short game, as once you get bored of power leveling you can realistically finish the main story in just a couple hours. For all it's shortcomings, it's still good, clean, gripping fun.

Entretenido mundo abierto de plataformas, aunque algo repetitivo y con algunas secciones tediosas.

Crackdown's most well-remembered for its inclusion of the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, but it's a fun and bombastic open world game in its own right, tasking the player as a powerful augmented law enforcer unloading heavy force onto a horde of criminal scum with superpowers and big guns to reclaim control of the city. Great fun on co-op and sometimes there's so much mayhem, destruction, explosions, gunfire, and other shit going-on you just can't help but slow down to take it all in.
