Not the most polished in the series but I love it because of the heavy RPG elements (I suck at strategy but am decent at RPGs). The campaigns were great, sucking me into the stories with nothing but text narratives. The gameplay was pretty deep, and the music was some of the best in the series.
It did feel like the devs programmed the AI and the maps not so much to provide concrete challenge and more just to annoy the player though.
