Played this as part of a Halloween stream, and found it to be an incredibly average indie horror game. There are some nice touches, such as how the titular Mr. Hopp changes in appearance the further you progress, and the sound design is great, especially in a game like this where you need sound to be able to predict whether it is safe to move or not. The game is reminiscent of Clock Tower in a good way, mostly.

That being said, the game is absolutely dragged down by the gameplay, which consists of extremely janky platforming over objects on the floor. Very awkward to play, though this is the first one so I can't complain too much. Maybe the sequel is an improvement.

O jumpscare epilético foi tão do nada que me deixou puto pro resto do jogo

A fine enough little horror game, but trying to get every achievement was a mistake

For a free, 2d side scrolling, Mascot Horror game, this is great. And it is free. Just give the game a play, it'll be around 25 to 35 minutes of your time and it's great and very well made.

Mr. Hopp has an interesting design as well, very creepy in some instances, and very well thought out. The mechanic of the sound, and going past corridors waiting for Mr. Hopp to pass is great.

Overall: 8/10

A 2D sidescroller, Mr. Hopp’s Playhouse was a fun, if somewhat frustrating little game. Gameplay was as simple as it could get, the aim to avoid the titular Mr. Hopp by staying out of sight and jumping over toys so as to not make noise and alert him. Objects were scattered throughout the environment and were necessary to escape. There were also several Easter eggs, as well as more than one ending.

Patience really was key, as I learned. A lullaby was used to denote the whereabouts of Mr. Hopp, but it could be awkward. Still, I enjoyed it overall, the cat and mouse chase able to get the heart rate going. What else could I ask for in a free product?
