Alright, this one's a remake that got released in 2022, probably going to do the same with the others I encounter and not give nearly as much historical leniency as most of the other stuff in this collection. This controls like hot ass lol, makes you wonder how terrible the Resident Evil games would be if they used actual real tank controls. Even if you got used to it I just don't think this is a very good tank battle game, since you have to land multiple shots to down someone which feels very unsatisfying, and the amount of variance of what a shot even means is kind of a crapshoot given just how many powerups drop. And even with that, the CTF mode is a pretty much pointless addition since I imagine there are very very few situations in 2v2 where it doesn't end on a 0-0 tie.

As far as this sort of thing goes, Tank Trouble and the one in Wii Play are always gonna be more worth your time. Even the one in the new(ish) Clubhouse Games is way better than this and I don't even like that one that much lol

Dual-stick tank controls should only be used in a 3D perspective, rather than a top-down 2D one. Otherwise, it feels too convoluted to play.

[Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Reimagined]

Quadratank is a reimagined version of the game "Tank" originally made by Kee Games, it is the first game in the reimagined lineup made exclusively for the Atari 50th Anniversary Celebration and it's such a fun idea to remake these really old titles, the only issue is that even with this modern coat of paint it's still not fun to play. I wasn't expecting an insane remake or anything but it just proves how old Atari games didn't age well and I doubt any of the coming Reimagined titles will be anything to write home about, though I would love them to surprise me with a decent game.

About Quadratank the game is pretty similar to its original version, the main difference lies in the graphics since they gave the game some simple 3D models to replace the 2D sprites and the other would be about the gameplay since they added a bunch of powerups and game settings to add to the replay value, unfortunately for me, I hate how the game controls, I know it was made on purpose to mess with the player and have fun with friends or something but if you are the type of friend who forces 3 people to play Quadratank with you, you are the devil.

(Atari 50)

A flawed but interesting four player update to Tank, with a cool capture the flag mode, ice floor options, turrets, and alternate weapons. Ultimately still feels pretty dated and boring to play but a novel update.

I feel like this could be good fun with friends. Fairly simple, but it works overall. Controls are weird, but some of the control schemes are appreciable because they're weird. Aesthetically, the game's pretty basic though, more could've been done to make it look more interesting. Also I get that Combat is part of the collection in Atari 50 but it's weird that they have a Tank reimagining but no Combat reimagining.

It's essentially combat but 3d, it's cool, I like it and it's a nice reimagining with different power ups that allow you to improve your tank.

The game plays like a combat but with 4 people and you have different gamemodes to play like Death Match or capture the flag. It has unique stages with different obstacles but it's a standard fun Combat spiritual successor/predessor I guess (cause this reimagining is based off an old game wayyy before combat, but this is also a remake/pseudo successor I guess)

Still overall I think it's great fun with friends as long as you play with 1 joystick controlling the tank, as having the 2 joystick option is literal hell.
