Beat both R-Type 1 and 2. This was a great package. Loved how you could switch between old and new graphics. Fun coop shmup action.

Infinite mode reminds me of celeste and I’m having a hoot imagining R-Type incorporating more of that game’s design features. The bydo empire sending little pop ups back to earth that are like “be proud of your death count, it’s how you get better at defending against our invasion. You got this!” I have to single-handedly stop the bydo because it’s actually a representation of my eating disorder, and I’m not alone, I have the indestructible pod attachment that is my support system of friends and family, and with their help I can shoot the laser beams of clarity in different directions and different perspectives.

Anyway I wish it didn’t default to putting the pod behind you when you die. Honestly that’s what killed me more often than any alien menace.

Update: There’s a slow-mo button for infinite mode! And an auto power-up button! I like this game now! I guess it helps to read the backloggd summary for a game every now and then

A nice remake of the first two R-Type games, with many modes and settings that can help newcomers in learning every level. It has A LOT of trial and error, but that's the only way to truly master this games. I preferred the first one, I found the second one to be excessively unfair at times.

A pretty good way to play R-Type 1 and 2 tbh, if just for Infinite Mode and the slightly wider play field. The 3D graphics are also pretty nice if you throw the retro filter on top, makes it kinda look like a blend between a PS1 and Dreamcast game.
