Players assume the role of an angry cop on a wild ride as he pursues a gang of bikers who killed his wife. Players need to race through oncoming traffic, squeeze between trucks, trash motorcycles and steer through lots of explosions. The only thing needed are quick reflexes to follow the instructions on the screen (with an increasing difficulty) in order to keep the animation going.

This game reminds you that the Laserdisc format basically peaked as soon as it released, and that it's a shame no one made a Naked Gun intro scene into a Laserdisc game. At least this is a close approximation to that.

I kind of hate how every time I see this game I think about how Game Sack has covered this game in like 6 different videos.

Ok but for real though I have to say this and I was surprised when I played this and LOVED IT SO MUCH! Like it's grainy and it's just pressing two directions or two buttons but it's so chaotic and I love it. It was also just nice playing this and actually having a chance which was an issue I had with Time Gal. Also the intro song is really cool. Road Blaster FX (Japan name) was so awesome and I'm very surprised this currently my favorite Mega CD game...wow.

I always felt most FMV games were kind of hammy and silly, not really worth time for playing now. This one however felt surprisingly tense and was great fun. It's surprising how much 4 inputs and timing well to the video does so much. Major problem for me is the same as any other FMV game - trying to predict what to do next without enough lead time or with short input windows gets frustrating, but thankfully most of the game is pretty lenient. Only the last level gets to the level of a quarter muncher, but man is it such a great finale.

Really fun to play, amazing animation and a killer opening theme is probably all I could have asked for from this and it's what I got.

This game is very cool, and whoever made this should consider writing shounen, because every 3 seconds in this game some new incredibly out of the blue thing happens -- you dodge a car, dodge another car, dodge an explosion, drive on the wall, blast through a business and almost run into people, chase a motorcycle on the boardwalk, ramp off of it, drive through a hotel; just beat after beat after beat every action, and it works! The semi-absurdness of it lures me in and keeps my attention perfectly while not quite being long enough to get to a point where I start to question it. Also, this game is DEEPLY overwhelming in how it expects you to respond immediately while the visual and audio stimulus is doing everything possible at all times. Sensory overload if it was a video game. Also also, wish all these old racing games weren't just like, you're a cop and you're so cool and you beat the shit out of the evil legion of doom who killed your wife in cold cold blood and bombed the city and said they'll never go a day in their lives without killing because it brings them such joy, etc.

Barbie Epic Road Trip sweep.
