Windjammers

released on Jan 08, 1994

Windjammers (also known as Flying Power Disc in Japan) is a fast paced sports arcade game released by Data East on the Neo Geo arcade system in 1994 and later on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan on June 22, 2010. Following the bankruptcy of Data East, the intellectual rights for this game were acquired by Paon. It was delisted in Japanese Virtual Console for the Wii on December 24, 2013, making it the only delisted Neo Geo game for the Wii Virtual Console. The game mechanics are essentially the same as Pong or air hockey, where players continuously shoot the disc at the goal zone of the opponent attempting to score. The game can be played against the computer or in a 2 player versus.

Fun little sports game. The graphics look great as well as the music. I just couldn't get a feel for the controls. I was losing to easy computers. I guess I'm just bad at the game haha

The Radicool 90s aesthetic does nothing for me, but as far as competitive digital air hockey transported to a Beach FutureSports setting with deeply satisfying sound effects goes, this is pretty perfect. Love the breakneck speed! The cast is a bit boring, though.

You ever play an old game and it unlocks some form of nostalgia that you don't understand because you never grew up with said thing? Anyways anemoia or whatever, that's Windjammers. this shit goes fuckin hard.

watched gameplay of this years ago and really wanted to play it but never could until i found out it was on switch and now i got me and my friend hooked and now i just need to spread this game's influence further throughout the friend group
