Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship Tournament 2006 is a video game based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. The game play involves the player collecting cards in-game and using them to battle the computer players. Players may also (upon completing the Free Duel mode) battle against Decks which they themselves have designed and saved. This game came with three promotional Yu-Gi-Oh! cards enclosed; they were "Helios - The Primordial Sun", "Helios Duo Megistus", and "Golden Homunculus". These cards were later available in English Blister Packs.

fantastic little slice of what yugioh was at the time. even comes with a feature that lets you give the ai ANY DECK to play against you. unfortunately the ai is not great, if it was the game would easily be at least a 4. regardless, it is what yugioh games SHOULD be and is easily much much better than all of the other yugioh games on GBA.

Probably the best YGO game for GBA if all you want is a simulator. It doesn't have a campaign, instead you just fight random monsters from a menu, but it has a ton of content in the form of challenges and puzzles. It also the best looking gba ygo game, we can even see the card art on the miniature cards.

If I ever replay this one I'm gonna probably be playing it all day

Pretty standard YGO game. Compared to the other World Championship games (or at least the ones i've played), there's no duelists in the anime that appears in this game. Nor do any of the monster opponents have decks similar to what they use.

Honestly there's not much you can do in this game except build your deck and keep dueling monster opponents until you reach the highest rank. I built my dragon deck from 2005 in this game and faired pretty well against the computer. The game isn't even an RPG like the DS games. So interest in this one is very limited to weither you've actually played the card game in 2005-2006 or not. Since the cards and rulesets are from that era.

You also spend points to buy booster packs. Which is only good for getting extra cards if you used the password system to get your cards instantly for you ingame deck. Again, not much I can say about this game since there's barely anything goes on in this game.

This game is extremely impressive on a technical level for a GBA title, it contains a ridiculous amount of cards, lots of AI opponents, puzzles, challenges, etc. I also like how you can pick a structure deck at the beginning instead of being handed a bunch of garbage like in most Yu-Gi-Oh! games.
However, this is still a GBA game so it's rather limited in some aspects. I'm of the opinion that a simulator like this needs a campaign of sorts because otherwise it's better to simply play with other people. Also, the low resolution means most cards look awful.
Old games like this always have some value because they help preserve a time in the game's history, but I would probably recommend a different one for 2006.
