The Deathstroke fight for this game is just Tank Among Us

Batmobile segments taste so good when you ain't got a bitch in ya ear telling you they are bad

Except the Deathstroke one that's actually fucking dogshit

the city is so cartoonishly oversized to make space for the awful batmobile and the story sux

this is definitely one of the batman games of all time

First off before I start I gotta say this game has the best graphics ever. Like to this day. It came out in like 2015 and I played the game on low graphics and it's still the most graphically impressive game ever. Not even just the textures or how the rain perfectly shines on batman's cape or all that stuff but the batmobile can crush things as it goes through and the destructibility is nothing short of awesomesauce. it's insane. OK, now we can get on with the review.

Combat is the best it's ever been. It feels amazing to play, and it better be since they've had like 10 years to refine the formula.
Stealth is also great because of how the AI works and how many awesome gadgets you're given. And because the AI learns the way you play, especially against a certain enemy type you have to shake up your strategies but it still feels fair and you're able to do it in any way you like. It's pretty sandboxy and the artform that I find I can most easily express myself in is batman predator rooms.

But man the batmobile is the weakest part of the game. It's not that it's bad, it's one of the most fun vehicles ever, and the insane destruction is very well done. It's also really fun to race with in the optional mode in the menu, and the skins for it are awesome. Do you know my problem with it? the tank mode is used way too much. And don't get me started on the tank stealth parts. Yeah, you heard me. Tank. Stealth. Parts. Parts plural with an S. You - WHILE DRIVING THE TANK... sneak up behind other tanks. And then you charge up your special tank stealth attack and you shoot. I remember being confused with assassin's creed 4 boat stealth but this is a literal tank. If you asked 7 billion people what the least discrete vehicle is, 6 billion of them would say tank, 500 million of them would say a giant bat-themed tank, and the other 500 million were the developers of this game who all said unicycle.

the story is alright, you can tell Dini's not here and some of the characters feel oddly written. Lots of odd choices and weird things that occur in the story. As well as the story having no real climax. It kinda fizzles out after a cutscene. There are no real boss fights either. There are like 2 in the main story. The side missions were mostly good, except one that feels like they rushed super hard to get this character in the game. Totally wasted, could've been a whole thing instead of that mine disarming one (that 1 sucked).

The game's still great, the puzzles are fun, combat and stealth are the best they've ever been, the graphics are very good, driving and gliding and grappling around Gotham feels natural, all the other playable characters are cool, the sidequests are mostly awesome, but it falls short of city and asylum for me due to the lower quality in story and writing, lack of cool boss fights, overuse of tank battles, and anticlimactic ending,. Thanks for reading. I'll do the expansions now and spend the rest of my life doing the batman 89 races. CYA!

By far the best of the trilogy, as opposed to the popular opinion. The batmobile is a fun addition, albeit clumsy, to drive around the tight streets of Gotham. It took a while to get used to a new UI layout, but once I got the hang of it, the thugs feared my presence. The side stories were a fun activity alongside the main story, and a lot can be done while naturally driving around the city. In combat, I felt that Batman was much more capable of quickly dispatching crowds of enemies, thanks to the new suit. I would have scored this higher, but the numerous crashes I got while gliding around got tiresome. Not something I expect for an eight-year-old game originally for an older generation of consoles.

This game could've been good but the Batmobile tank thing they've got going on just isn't fun in the slightest and it really makes this game far worse than Arkham Asylum or Arkham CIty

The batmobile was fine. Easily the best game in the series and one of the best open world superhero games around. I adore this game.

On release this was definitly a dissapointing conclusing. The critique was mostly justified, but with the benifit of heinsight: Man this gameplay slaps so hard. If they didnt force those weird Batmobil puzzle sections on you, this would be the ultimate Batman game and a easy 5/5 Stars.

This game pisses me off so fucking much.

It has good gameplay so I can't say it's bad but it was one of the main contributors to my dissociation with gaming around the mid 2010s.

Batmobile combat is boring, the story is a strong contender for worst batman narrative of all time, the finale is not earned and the amount of creativity and attention to detail that goes to waste on this vapid and atrocious script is quite literally baffling.

If Asylum didn't exist this would be the worst Arkham game by far.

This game is absolutely stunning visually!
Combat and movement is fluid and speedy!
Depiction of Gotham City is eerie and clearly crime ridden mainly due to the event of the story.

But I couldn't see myself enjoying this as much as the others in the series, noticeable crashes at random parts, feeling way too overpowered at times, to a point that I did not even play predator sections how they were intended because it was so easy to go guns blazing!

Best thing about this was the story tbh, I was shocked with it! The whole Arkham Knight reveal got me! and seeing Batman struggle to process Joker is dead is a sad one to see.

Although I have yet to do Knightfall protocol, Im kinda sick and tired of Riddler so I cba to do it, might just look it up.

But my god the whole setting and the way the story overlaps with the side quests was a welcome one, even if Deathstroke was underwhelming. Kinda makes the tease for him being part of the suicide squad irrelevant Fuck you Arkham Origins!

This replay of Arkham Knight was something of a revelation. I had always liked this game but I also got so caught up in the issues that you could easily single out to nitpick to death, with that namely being the overabundance of repetitive batmobile sections, the lack of memorable boss battles, the blatantly predictable story twist, etc. In the grand scheme of things though allowing these hiccups to torpedo a game which excels so comprehensively on so many other levels is effectively missing the forest for the trees. Because on this replay I've garnered a deeper appreciation for Arkham Knight and I’m finally ready to see it as an unassailable masterpiece on the same level as Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. This game holds up amazingly well nearly a decade after its initial release. On a sheer sensory and technical level it’s positively sumptuous, boasting absolutely stunning visuals and graphics, a gorgeously atmospheric open world that’s rich in both depth and content, and top notch moment to moment gameplay. The traversal is fast paced and very efficient, the stealth sections are about as blisteringly intense and tightly designed as ever, and the combat remains more or less the same fluid freeflow system from the other games but polished up to a mirror sheen, with just the right mix of mechanical complexity and varied enemy types to keep it consistently challenging and fun. I’ve also come to really love this game’s story. It takes a while to really cook and the writing itself is far from spotless (as it definitely lacks the same butter smooth pacing of the prior games and certain beats aren’t entirely fleshed out or built up) but the story which does emerge is ultimately still incredibly compelling. It offers very emotionally effective character drama and plenty to talk about and think about thematically. It also contains some absolutely fantastic moments throughout which rank among some of the best in the series. The side missions additionally contribute very meaningfully to the overarching narrative alongside just being incredibly unique and engaging gameplay content in their own right. All of these reasons as well as many others more are why i absolutely love Arkham Knight in spite of it all. It's messy and imperfect but it's also just so much fun. It tells a highly ambitious story which conclusively rounds off a saga of fantastic games near flawlessly while also paying due tribute to its characters. The Arkham games are such a huge part of why i love video games so much in the first place and revisiting them was certainly a fruitful experience.

the batmobile feels like it was taken from a lego game

After gettin 200% and soon getting the DLCs I can say that IMO this game has an uncalled hate, the batmobile isnt that bad, it was fun to use and overall a really good add to the franchise, the story can get kinda weird if you try to look at it from a realistic POV but I dont really mind that cuz its done that way for the sake of the game being fun, it still stays somewhat consistent to the point where you can just not mind about it but also it doesn't feel like you're playing a game that is just independent parts connected that dont make much sense.

The combat is by far my favorite part of this game, your timing and rythm while fighting are rewarded while doing combos which makes the game less of a button smashing, the variety of enemys really helps this part of the game cause many times you're going to find yourself analizing the situation you're facing instead of just jumping in and beating everyone, atleast to me this is really appealing since it reminds me to the that detective side of batman which to me is really cool.

My major problem with this game is that half of the side quests feel like random events and the rest feel like actual side quests, apart from that a really good game and my fav in the batman arkham series.

I love this game!!

A Lot of people say "oh the Batmobile takes up 60% of the game" First off I still find the Batmobile fun to use and second that is simply not true. The Boy Aqua (I would check his video out) said he recorded his whole 100% playthrough of this game only using it when necessary and it only took up 19% of the game.

Even then, the stealth and the combat are practically flawless, and I still thought it was a damn good story

Arkham DLC ranked - https://www.backloggd.com/u/Flameyboy928/list/batman-arkham-dlc-ranked-/

The final entry in the best superhero gaming franchise of all time and probably the most divisive one at that. I think that Arkham Knight features some of the best and the worst that this franchise has to offer. That being said I think that this is still a fantastic end to this franchise.

To start off with the story, I think that this is on the weaker side compared to the other games, the story feels very disconnected from itself and due to the constant breaks throughout it, It can stall quite a bit. To broaden it out, I think the game starts great, dips drastically in the middle, picks up with the Harley segment at the movie studio, dips again for a bit but come back to end strongly. There is a lot I like about the story, first off I love Scarecrow as the main villain. One of my favourite Batman villains so im glad to see him at the helm. So much better than the Asylum version. Batman's battle against the Joker's virus is a good B plot which ties in well with the end of the game. I really like what they do with Ivy's character turning her into a bit of an anti-hero at the end. I like the inclusion and more focus on the bat family, particularly Oracle and Nightwing. Now onto a couple issues I have. I think the Arkham Knight could of been done a lot better, ill talk more specifically about this in a minute but I think that him popping up every now and then only to leave as soon as batman starts to fight back gets very repetitive after the 3rd time. I think that the detonation of the cloud of fear gas comes completely out of the blue and 100% could of been handled better and given a bit of tension. I also think that the story's pace grinds to a halt during the middle section specifically the airship part. Probably 3rd ranked in terms of story as I think it has a better overall narrative than Asylum.

Now looking at the characters, once again I have to mention the amazing work done by the two goats, Kevin Conroy (RIP) and Mark Hamill. They put so much life into these two characters and it is devastating that we will never see the two of them on screen again. I will also commend John Noble for his terrifying performance as Scarecrow, also Jonathan Banks gives the best Jim Gordon performance in the series. Great work as always by the series mainstays like Nolan North as Penguin, Tara Strong as Harley, Tasia Valenza as Ivy and Troy Baker as Two-Face and the Arkham Knight. Speaking of the Arkham Knight, I think it is a safe bet to say that the vast majority who played this game guessed the twist a mile off. Jason Todd being the Arkham Knight is a really interesting idea but it was just done so poorly. The constant hints being fed while constantly feeding into the mystery is really counter intuitive. Im sure most people guessed it from the first time Jason Todd is mentioned as he hasnt been brought up at all during the whole series. I think it would of been better if Batman knowingly had to fight Jason and having to grapple with that. I think that would of been way better than the constant "Not yet Dark Knight" every time he was on screen. Side characters are pretty good, most villains are kept to side quests but we do get proper uses of the bat family which is great. Nightwing, Robin, Alfred and Oracle are prominent throughout the story which is great to have. To quickly touch on the designs. Knight has some of my favourites. What i have noticed is that Knight makes a lot of the characters look messy or unkempt, big examples are Penguin, Riddler and Firefly all looking very sweaty and very dressed down considering what they normally look like. I absolutely love Scarecrows design, with the mangled face and the noose around his neck. I really like that they didnt ignore the fact he got deathrolled by killer croc in Asylum, I actually noticed this time through that he has a leg brace which is a cool detail. Other designs like Harley, Azrael, Two-face and Ivy are nice upgrades from their city counterparts.

Moving onto the gameplay. Arkham Knight perfects everything that the other games had been building towards. The free flow system peaked here, it is so fluid and this game adds lots of little features like the fear multi takedown, environmental takedowns and duel takedowns when fighting with a partner. A lot of enemy variety with the Arkham Knight's militia, now you have medics, drone operators, brutes with knives, sword wielding guys and now thugs will randomly charge you as well. The traversal is perfect also, flying around the city is so quick it is awesome. However there is of course that other means of traversal...

The batmobile in this game was controversial to say the least. Now I fully used to be in the "They overused the batmobile" camp, in fact it I said it in my old review of this game. I still do agree to an extent but during the main story I didnt find much of an issue outside a couple of things, side content however is a different debate, i will touch on that later. My main complaints with the batmobile are that it seems like whenever rocksteady didnt know what to put in an area, they would throw a drone fighting segment in, so there are some parts of the story that really dont seem like they need it. Also I hate the cobra tank battles, vehicle stealth sections should not exits, period. Also the cloud burst battle sucks and leads into my next point.

WHY DOES THIS GAME HAVE NO BOSS BATTLES! Every other game in the series is praised on its boss battles, but in Arkham Knight you are gonna get one of two things, a tank battle or a room full of goons that you have to clear before you can deal damage to the boss. This is my biggest complaint about this game, it truly shocks me why they abandoned literally the best part of all the other games.

Now this is gonna take a bit because this is my favourite part of Arkham Knight. The side content. This game has sensational side content, almost every major villain from the series is featured in Knight's side content. I love gradually filling up the GCPD with the villains and I also like how the game pushes you onto the side content. So I am briefly going to go over most side quests and ill group a few together to save time.

First off the militia side quests are boring, all 4 of them. Dont get me started on the fucking deathstroke fight which is literally the fucking Arkham Knight cloudburst battle again expect without the fear toxin. A bastardisation of the Origins fight. These quests really add to the overused batmobile argument as two of them require it.

The Riddler side quest also sucks, Ive done this twice to 240% the game and I will never do it again. The trophies are one thing but the shit challenges are boring and i will never do these every again.

The two small sidequests involving Hush and Deacon Blackfire are decent but could of been longer. Deacon Blackfire i think could of been replaced with a character like Bane, Clayface, Black Mask or even a popular character we hadn't seen yet like Ventriloquist and Scarface. Hush one is a bit of a let down but I have no clue what else they could of done.

Two-Face and Penguin both have decent side quests, I like the Two-face one more because of the way it switches up the normal predator sections by giving you the chance to go loud. Penguins is alright, having Nightwing in it is cool.

The Firefly quest is a chase segment but it is pretty cool, Nothing on the origins segment but still alright. Finding the fire fighters is just a gauntlet of enemies so nothing special there.

Now for my Top 3 favourites. The Azrael quest is fun, getting to play as him is nice and the choice at the end is a cool way to end it off. The man bat quest is awesome, with that iconic jumpscare and examining the lab, an unusually sad side quest. Then the Professor Pyg quest which is my favourite, its a better version of the Hush quest from city. The creepy Opera music, examining the bodies and that final fight is pretty fun.

Quickly looking at the visuals. This game looks fantastic. Hard to believe that is nearly 10 years old. I would really like to see a ps5 upgrade, just to see this in 60 fps would be brilliant. Also the score is great, probably the weakest of the series but by no means bad.

Arkham Knight is still pretty divisive, but to me it is a fantastic book end to one of the best franchises of all time. Also Arkham Knight has 7 DLC's to look at so prepare for the bombardment of those reviews. 100% recommend this game and this series, Absolutely fantastic.

Released at the midpoint of the tens, Arkham Knight encompasses the best and worst AAA gaming had to offer in that specific period: Jaw-dropping graphics, perfect voice acting courtesy of Hamill and Conroy, and an awful, choppy launch. The deflating reveal of the Arkham Knight's identity didn't help matters either. But is that all the game is, a disaster and nothing more?

No, not really - it's just mediocre. Scarecrow takes the spot of "Overanalyzing asshole that shouts from the PA system" from Hugo Strange this time around, and all of his dialogue is repetitive. The militia side missions feel like Ubisoft-tier padding with no meaningful variance outside of enemy placement, and apparently the Riddler became a Top Gear nut in between games 'cause his whole personality is silly car challenges. Most of the villain quests are one-note in design, but I quite liked Two-Face's missions. They're simple, encourage speed, and push the player to use tools to maximize damage in a short window of time. This leads right into the combat, which I feel excels when the goal is to eliminate targets as fast as possible - the abundance of techniques ensures it never gets stale. My opinion on freeflow combat over the years has fluctuated from 'genius' to 'braindead' to today, where the most passion I can muster for it is a half-hearted 'okay'. At its best, it's a game of rhythm, but most of the time you're dazzling a big guy with your cape and mashing buttons. The predator sections are fun, no real complaints there. I used to be a bit hard on it for being detective mode-heavy, but considering how Batman's whole schtick is preparedness and knowing everything before acting, it's a necessary evil.

My feelings on the story go back and forth, mostly because of Mark Hamill's performance. It's absolute peak, and makes everything bearable when he's on screen. I initially thought seeing Joker prance around in Batman's mind would be incredibly annoying, especially after his permanent end in City. I thought wrong, as he's definitely the best part of the plot. Most of the other elements I'm not too fond of, the Arkham Knight especially. Using Jason Todd is predictable but not a terrible choice, it's just that he's got nothing good in terms of gameplay or plot. There's what, a couple of tank sections and a prolonged predator section? It feels like a real dud.

I don't like that the elements in this game make me flip-flop from liking it to not. There are too many weak parts for me to really enjoy it, but the amount of good content is undeniable. Also I didn't really finish it because the game told me that I needed to capture the Riddler if I wanted to see the ending.

The Riddler sucks, man.

I own this game on at least 8 different platforms

Best in the series, tbh. Gameplay and graphics is easily the best, the atmosphere is great, the story is pretty decent albeit predictable. Only real flaw is the over-use of the batmobile.

I cooked some eggs with how fried my pc became after playing this game

FUCKING hell what a game.

Batman and Arkham City at its finest; the gameplay still retains that seamless and perfect fighting choreography, making every kill and knockout as satisfying as ever.

Much of the dark, gritty and rainy criminal world of Arkham is just so atmospheric that you can't help but traverse and explore everywhere. The visual fidelity is still crazy and beats many of the new-gen releases like Gotham Knights.

My main critique with this game would be the design of the bossfights, really didn't like how there wasn't much emphasis on actually battling them like you'd do in Origins and City.

The game is still a blast from start to finish, an easy recommendation if you've played the other Batman games in the franchise.

Batman: Arkham Series Reviews

You can tell that for the finale of the Arkham games, Rocksteady wanted to go all out by making the biggest and boldest game they could. Arkham Knight's overworld is open and massive, the largest in the series. It features the most extensive cast, with over a dozen members of Batman’s rogues gallery and most of the core members of the Batfamily. It's filled to the brim with hours upon hours of content. Unfortunately, I think that Batman: Arkham Knight is a testament to the notion that bigger isn’t always better. Despite being filled with so much content, most of it is quite repetitive and stretched very thin. The game is also especially hindered by being so focused on its primary gameplay innovation: the Batmobile.

Arkham Knight further refines and polishes the core gameplay mechanics of the Arkham series to a mirror shine. This is the best Batman has ever felt to control, whether he’s in combat, in predator sections, or just gliding around the city. In combat, his moveset has been adjusted to feel more satisfying than ever before. The Fear Multi-Takedown as well as new gadgets like the Voice Modifier allow for even more unique ways to tackle predator sections. Since Gotham is as big as it is, gliding and grappling to surfaces has been made faster and even more fluid. All of these core gameplay changes to Batman are fantastic, which is why it’s so frustrating that for a majority of the game, you don’t play as Batman. Instead, you’re driving around in the Batmobile, which plays an obnoxiously large role in the game. The Batmobile is the biggest new gameplay feature that Arkham Knight introduces. Back in the day, I remember fans had been clamoring for a playable Batmobile in the Arkham series, and to appease those fans, it seems like Rocksteady’s highest priority was to figure out how the Batmobile can be used as often as possible. It's like the entire game was built around it, and I dislike it a lot. I wouldn’t mind it nearly as much if so much emphasis wasn’t placed on it.

The Batmobile is shoved into almost every facet of gameplay. It can be used as a high speed way to travel through Gotham, and this is when it's at its best and least intrusive. However, Arkham Knight is littered with a ton of combat sections where you have to use the Batmobile to fight unmanned drones. During these sections, the Batmobile transforms into a slow moving tank that fires missiles at these drones while dodging their oncoming attacks. The more damage you do without taking any yourself, the faster the Batmobile can utilize one of its secondary abilities, such as an EMP that will temporarily incapacitate the drones and render them harmless, or the ability to hack a drone and turn it against its allies. There are so many of these combat sections, especially in the second half of the game, and I just do not like them. I find them to be a slog and antithetical to what I like about the Arkham games in the first place. They’re not particularly engaging or fun, they take too long to complete, and there’s just way too many of them.

You also have to use the Batmobile in certain areas to solve puzzles, many of which involve trying to get the Batmobile deeper into an area. These will involve you constantly switching back and forth between Batman and a remote-controlled Batmobile, and I also really don’t like these. It feels like the Batmobile is this really big and bothersome gadget that you can’t just carry in your utility belt, so you have to figure out how to lug it along with you. It makes the Batmobile more of a burden more than anything else.

The Batmobile plays a pivotal role in the story, it’s featured in many of the game’s side missions… it’s everywhere. You can’t escape the damn thing. I barely did any of the Riddler stuff in this game because a majority of it involves the Batmobile and I just got too sick of it to ever want to do any of his race challenges (sorry Catwoman). When you’re not in the Batmobile, the game is great. Everything carried over from the previous titles is at its peak in Arkham Knight. It's just such a shame that so much of the game is built around a gameplay mechanic that I’m really not a fan of.

In a game featuring so many Batman villains, it's pretty surprising and disappointing that the game completely forgoes boss fights. I guess that between the three previous Arkham games it’d be difficult to think of any new characters or ideas they could use for a unique boss battle. They really peaked in City and Origins. Still, it's a noticeable absence, and it feels like the game is really missing something.

The story is a mixed bag. It starts off incredibly strong and very well-paced at first. There’s a real sense of finality all throughout the narrative, and I think that tarnishing Batman’s legacy by separating him from the myth and exposing the person underneath the mask is a great motivation for Scarecrow. As the game goes on though, it really falls off about halfway through, when it more or less just boils down to doing busy work in order to track down Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight, or fighting hordes of drones in the Batmobile. Speaking of the Arkham Knight, this was Rocksteady’s original character for the series that, alongside Scarecrow, was meant to be this game’s primary antagonist. There’s a huge mystery surrounding the Arkham Knight and his identity that the game makes a big deal out of. For most Batman fans, deducing the Arkham Knight’s identity is extremely easy, in fact, most fans were able to correctly guess who he was almost immediately after the character was first revealed during marketing for the game, and Rocksteady had to lie and say they were wrong. Not only that, but the game spells out his identity so clearly that even if you’re not the biggest Batman fan, it’s painfully easy figuring out who he is, to the point where there is no real mystery. He’s just handled in such an incredibly lukewarm manner. There’s a lot more that I want to say about the story, but almost all of it involves huge spoilers, so I’ve made a Pastebin where I discuss them in greater detail.

The game has a huge amount of side missions, and this is where a lot of the game’s repetition comes from. If they don’t involve the Batmobile, they usually involve a series of tasks where you do the exact same thing several times. For example, the Man Bat side mission has you track him down on three separate occasions, and each time you catch him, it plays the exact same animation of Batman bringing him to the ground and sticking a needle in him either to extract blood or administer a cure. For the Firefly side mission, you have to chase him down in the Batmobile until he realizes he can’t shake you, and then do the same quick time event where you mash the attack button to punch him when you catch up to him three separate times. It's the same thing with stopping Two Face and his bank robberies, saving the fire fighters, etc, etc. I think this problem stems from the giant open world, and needing things to actually do in it besides fight drones in the Batmobile.

I also want to touch on the Hush and Azrael side missions. These are continuations of the ones from Arkham City, and I’ve always been extremely disappointed with how they were handled. The Arkham City side missions really hyped both of these characters up and made it seem like they were going to be very important in Arkham Knight’s narrative, but they don’t actually play any significant role at all. It feels like they had more grand plans for these characters that at some point got dropped in development. I’m glad they were at least acknowledged and not dropped completely, but the way they were handled was just so miniscule and boring, and I feel like they could’ve been very interesting additions to the main story.

Arkham Knight makes a lot of gameplay and creative decisions that I do not agree with and stick out like sore thumbs to me. The refinement of the core Arkham series’ gameplay was its biggest draw, but playing through a majority of this game felt like an obligation to me. Rocksteady tried their best at making a Batman game that would please everyone, and I have nothing but respect for them and their take on Batman's world. With Arkham Knight however, they sadly ended up making a game that’s rather bloated and boring, and a narrative that has a lot of great ideas but felt really really undercooked, especially in the second half. Despite its faults, Arkham Knight does get the job of wrapping up the Arkham series done. I don’t think it does so in an especially strong fashion, but the game overall is a satisfying enough conclusion.

Story so bad it made me come back to backloggd after months to write a review. They should have kept Paul Dini as a writer. Story section is full of spoilers

Story
This story has 2 modes, boring shit or illogical nonsense. Jason was kept in an abandoned wing of Arkham, the same island Batman knows well enough to have a secret Batcave in? The island he constantly visits and keeps track of? Somehow no guards were ever sent in to check on an abandoned area of an infamous building? When Batman received the video of Jason's "death", he never came to Arkham to retrieve the body? Jason had multiple chances to kill Batman in the game and conveniently flubbed every single one? Jason was barely mentioned before this game and the story wants to act like its not obvious who the Arkham Knight is even though you get a bunch of flashbacks that Batman wasn't even around to see because now Joker blood can transfer memories, physical properties as well as his personality?

Whoever wrote this game forgot that the reason his blood was dangerous in the last game was because it had TITAN, a dangerous chemical in it and that the cure for it had the Fountain of Youth(Lazarus Pit) in it. Even if his blood could pass on his personality and appearance, you'd think the Lazarus elements in the cure would negate that for Batman.

Scarecrow needs ACE Chemicals to produce his large batch of fear toxin (the only big chemical plant in Gotham and Batman somehow didn't immediately guess) only seizing the Cloudburst later on as a back up plan, even though he could have seized it while Batman was investigating ACE and immediately use it. The fear toxin also doesn't make Batman experience mind bending hallucinations anymore, it just makes the Joker appear in his head (except when Babs dies he can now hallucinate again). The final scene where Scarecrow unmasks Batman is so dogshit its insane, Scarecrow straps a beltless Batman to a gurney and drags him to Robin and Jim. Batman and Robin, the dynamic duo can't escape from this? Batman has so much high tech in his gauntlets (that he was allowed to keep) but nothing to escape containment? Robin can't escape from basic ass rope? Even with his hands tied Robin should own Scarecrow's ass, in this exact scene after Bruce is unmasked Jim knocks out Scarecrow with one left hook. Even if they had more secure containment, Bruce could have just asked Nightwing to follow him and break him out.

Bruce only loses here and gets his identity revealed because the devs were done with Batman. The lives of all his allies are in constant danger now because of their association with Batman and we get some stupid vague ending about Bruce blowing up but but but he's still Batman and he uses fear toxin now (every single criminal is going to figure out this new shtick in 5 weeks).

This game treats every member of the Bat family like shit. Barbara is there to get fridged halfway through (jk she didn't actually die), Tim is there to be useless and date Barbara for some reason (they don't speak to each other even once and this relationship is used for cheap drama), Dick is there to look cool and also not do anything important and Jason is there for shitty retcons that make previous games worse.

Gameplay
Combat is tight as hell and enemy encounters are kinda puzzles to deconstruct with gadget use. Origins gets criticized for not having any new gadgets but there isn't much new here either afaik, the voice synthesizer is new but you can only use it in certain locations so that's not really a selling point. Stealth is really op now cause of Fear Takedowns though but gadget+stealth is still so fun and satisfying. Batmobile....

Music
Nothing memorable besides like a cover of the Arkham City theme and the track Predator which is pretty good

Conclusion
Only gave this shit 2 stars cause the combat and stealth are really fun, glad I got this game for free from Epic Games and I'm very glad I didn't have to pay for all the suit dlc and story dlc and yadda yadda yadda. Also I had to look up the ending cause for some reason after the final Scarecrow encounter the game told me I was 13/14 done with Most Wanted missions and I had to finish the final one to see the ending, that final one being Riddler. Nuh uh

I only played bc i want to fuck jason todd hes everything to me. no i dont give a fuck aboht the “plot”. what plot. theres no plot this whole game revolves around jason and jason only. Bye

Amazing game, quite excessive, but amazing game nonetheless. Refined gameplay, great graphics, and a fun story mode to end this awesome trilogy. The game suffers a little for excessiveness in every aspect: more gadgets (some useless), strange missions with the Batmobile, a ton of useless collectibles, and Joker being the center of attention can make the experience a little bit exhausting. At the end of the day, it's a great game, a must play indeed.

This would be a 10/10 if they put a little more work into the side missions that aren't Riddler or mllica related, but as it is this is one of the best stories in a game I've ever played and a fantastic end to the Arkhamverse.

I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman!
