It's a shame that this game isn't free to play or 4 player teams, because I'm worried that both of those things will harm this game's longetivity
It's a really solid but janky PvPvP game with some very fun elements

As of now currently a 2.5/5, though that is subject to change.
A very cool FPS game idea and I wish there were more games like it on the market, hearkening back to old AC multiplayer.
Despite me playing this a lot since release and generally enjoying my time, the game sits at a 2.5 for quite a few reasons.
Firstly, performance is shaky. There is a lot of freezing and weird lag for pretty much no reason, I think they just need to optimize. This entire game feels like early access or something, there is definitely a lack of polish.
Second, I do not entirely fuck with the gun play. I cannot explain why, but aiming is extremely difficult and just feels terrible. There is also way too big of an emphasis on head-shots. I feel like I'm playing halo online but even worse, where if you are not landing head-shots, you will lose the fight. Hit detection also feels wonky. I think the pure difficulty of the gun-play combined with the somewhat repetitive phase one of the game marks its doom, and even with cross-play, I don't think this game will survive.
Thirdly, as previously mentioned, phase 1 can get a little repetitive. You're doing the exact same thing every time, and that usually involves holding down a button to gain a resource. That's it. You may break out into a firefight in phase 1, but honestly fighting in this phase isn't helpful for either party.
Fourth, the game is just unbalanced. Some agents have really overpowered abilities or weapons that just feel unfair. It's especially annoying when some of these overpowered weapons/abilities must be unlocked through hours and hours of game-play.
Fifth, and this is more of a personal complaint, I do not care about/like any of the characters. I just straight up don't like any of them, I think they're all lame as hell. If I'm playing a spy game I want to play as a cool James Bond type, not some quirky goofball that quips like a marvel character. The closest character to what I want is Squire and man I just hate him, he is so annoying. Wish they'd give an option to turn off voice lines.
Despite all these flaws listed, I do want this game to succeed, and my 2.5/5 is honestly just because of how much I like the concept and yearn for more of this style. I don't know if they'll ever fix these problems, but here's to hoping.

Delivers on the promise of tense, stylish spy action. There's a bit of a steep learning curve in how the matches play out and figuring out the best ways to stay under everyone's radar but once it clicks the rounds get really fun. There are a few balancing issues and only a handful of maps at the start, but these are minor problems that if handled correctly are very fixable, and the developer seems keen on listening to the community. The base game is strong enough to be very encouraged that Tripwire will be able to build something special off of it.

it's so fun to play it on stream! it's definitely a twitch game, i didn't get to experience it with friends yet but for solo i can say that at maximum 20 hours i'll be bored, right now it's repetitive. the first few hours are very fun but it quickly gets old. still definitely recommend it if you're looking for a different fps

This game is such a blast and I really hope the team continues to add more and improve upon the game.
Deceive inc is a Spy x Hero shooter game where you spawn into a map with other players all disguised as NPCs. You walk/run around the map trying to find rooms that will have a machine that will allow you to unlock the final room. This all sounds simple BUT this is where the fun starts and lord is it very fun. While you are running around you will be in the same areas as the other real players but you never know who is who unless you catch a real player acting weird in which you can shoot them and see if they are real or not. If it is another player you both will go out of disguise and into the agent you actually chose and fight. If the person you shot isn't a player but an NPC you will go out of disguise just being ready to be jumped on by other players.
Its such a simple gameplay loop but its weirdly addicting since the gunplay is very fun and it is extremely fun trying to sneak your way around the map not wanting to get caught or catching out other players. Each agent is equipped with their own skill set and weapon that is specific to that agent alone and there are agent gadgets you can as well equip to each agent.
Honestly as of right now I don't really have to many negatives with the game past balancing issues with some agents and agent gadgets. I really hope this game does well enough to allow the dev team to show continue support because I really do think this game can form into a nice little online game as updates continue to roll out.

Some kind of basic competitive online game, where you waste a lot of your free time, performing the same useless actions, our task is to hack computers, get intel from there, open safes and secrets for them, in order to eventually get to the most secret room, from where you need to steal a suitcase, and run away with it to the point of evacuation. This is all. The trick is that each player can take on the appearance of any NPC, but not to say that this is something unique, this has already used in many games before, the basic visual, the basic monotonous locations, the basic donation set of skins and the battle pass, well, the shooting is not bad , ok, there is one more well-made gadget, a mini-trampoline, which you can sharply inflate and jump somewhere, or fence yourself off from someone, but the rest of the gadgets is also some kind of basic traps, a drone.. no fantasy, in in general, it would be better if they made game straight cooperative for two players, with different missions, the "spy" theme itself has incredible potential, which is why at first it seemed to me that something suitable would come out, and now I bombed a little)
if the camera sees you.
Play "The Ship" better, not the same, but for me it's more interesting, you can't kill others if the camera sees you.
and, well, in addition, 20fps at high on gtx 1650!

the game is ULTRA fun! It may seem a little complex/cliché at first sight but for a deceiving game, it is really well made. Imma point out the some good stuff that I think sold me the game instantly:
- NPC behaviour is crazy, there is no freaking way you can identify a player by the way they, walk, run, stop, or whatever. They're AI is very sussy and I made a lot of mistakes when I thought I was sure they were players.
- Gun play/character classes adds a lot to the game. They agents are all different and each of them play differently and have very fun synergy to play with friends. the "shooter" side of the game is well made and skill based, it doesn't depend only on who saw it first. Unless you're playing with an agent that can do a lot of damage if he get's anyone by surprise (see? synergy!).
- A lot of different and giant maps at launch. Every team spawns far from each other and it can be a long time without seeing anyone, or you can spend 5 minutes at war with another squad.
- Each agent has a lot costumization and unlockables that you progress through while playing.
The price tag may be a little high around 20$ but if you have the opportunity to try it you won't regret it
