Interesting ideas but the controls were just not working for me. Maybe I was playing in a space that was too small. Also that last puzzle with the match was slightly odd due to the match I was holding being invisible? They needed to make it look like I was holding a ghost match so I knew it was in my hand, at least.

I personally found it so boring that I couldn't bring myself to complete it.

 A Fisherman's Tale is cute. It has some fun little visual tricks, it looks nice, and the puzzles are okay if a little repetitive in their solutions. My fun was kind of spoiled, though—even though I turned hints off in the settings, dialog would constantly tell me exactly what to do instead of letting me solve the puzzles at my own pace. Voice lines would also repeat way too frequently, grating on my nerves. I also found the final puzzle of the game to be particularly janky in comparison to the others.

Polished, but once you get a grasp on it, there's only one puzzle. Make thing big or make thing small. I beat it in less than two hours.


A View From The Heitz: What I love about VR games is that they can be 1-2 hour experiences. A Fisherman's Tale is just that, a 1-2 hour story based/narrated puzzle game that is very creative and fun.

Not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised with an interesting mind bending twist early in chapter 1 that uses VR to it's full potential. You play as a fisherman's puppet living inside a lighthouse. When a storm hits, it's up to you to make it to the top of the lighthouse to shine the light.

In the center of the room there is a lighhouse model that is being built by the fisherman, things get cool when you reach down and remove the roof just to find the roof over your head also being removed. As you look up you realize your in the model and that model is inside another model, which is inside another and another and another.

This is the main mechanic of the game which has you lifting, combining and moving things around to get you to next section of the lighthouse. Reaching inside the small model in front of you to lift a tiny anchor blocking a door means you see yourself reaching in to your house to remove the life size anchor from your door, freeing the way to move on.

The game is filled with creative ways of using those different perspectives to it's advantage and has a lot of fun/quirky side characters that join you along the way.

I found the VR mechanics to work very well as you use buttons on the motion controls to turn you body, the Z button to move from one area to the next and you can also extend/retract your arms with the push of button that makes things that are further away from you or on the floor easier to grab.

I only had a few moments where the move controls got tricky, especially during the last chapter involving a match that needs to be passed through different layers of reality but was never frustrated to where I wasn't enjoying the game.

Overall I think this is a fantastic game to show off to friends and family who are interested in VR and if you enjoy puzzle based games, you will have a great time playing it.

This is a fun little platinum as a lot of VR games tend to be. There is a trophy for beating each chapter and then a bunch of misc. trophies like: feed the fish 10 things it doesn't want, dust the model, throwing an object out of the window, etc. The two trophies to keep an eye it is for grabbing all 3 hidden pearls in the level (many of which are well hidden, for example: outside a window where you have to really twist and turn your head to see and grab) and a trophy for beating the game grabbing less than 150 items.

You should attempt to get ALL trophies except for "Economy of Means" (grab less than 150 objects) in your first run of the game. Play your second run immediately after as everything you need to do will be fresh in your mind and play the game through only grabbing the necessary items. I beat the game grabbing about 120 items and that was with a few mistakes in one particular level.

That level is one where you have yo use levers for a crane to pull some boat parts out of the water. The reason being is you have to move the crane, left/right/up/down/in/out to get two parts that you need which could make you grab and let go of a lever multiple times. Try to plan it out and keep your hands on levers for as long as you can without letting go.

Get this out of the way and the Platinum is yours!

A neat little Puzzle Game :)
I don't mind so much, that it is so short (took 1 me Hour). It is well made and got it's Heart at the right Place!
But would still wait for a Sale. 15€ is a bit heavy imho, even though, it is a fun Game :)

Very good, interesting, not very difficult puzzles, but unfortunately very short. I finished it in 119 min.

Cute. Doesn't do nearly enough with the concept but it's very charming.

I really like that a lot of VR games are just experimental, short experiences, such as this one. This game doesn't try to expand a lot on its puzzles besides the main idea of big/small, but it gave me a good Superliminal fix during the hour and a half it lasted

Pretty good, but some puzzles have very convoluted solutions when there are more obvious ones that do not work.

a super cool, fun, and charming vr game that has a unique idea behind it, full of puzzles and gameplay that require some inception level stuff, i thought the whole art style and story was really cute and the gameplay was really varied while still staying coherent with its central idea, the only caveat is that its pretty short, i bet it in a little under 90 minutes, but honestly i dont think thats much of a problem since the game didnt overstay its welcome, made me enjoy every second of that play time and left me satisfied by the end, overall i definetly recommend you play this if youre into experimental vr games

i wanna live in the lighthouse

A cool incentive VR puzzle game that is sadly way too short. I loved the idea of manipulating a model within a model and messing with the sizes of different object, shrinking and making them grow. There was much more they could have done with it but at like an hour long it just felt like a test.
