I cannot find enough words to describe how amazing this game is. The story, the dialogues, the soundtrack, the artwork, everything! The relationship between Michelle and Sam develops into such a sweet and pure thing, with ups and downs in between. They are so different yet they end up understanding each other - Sam is a free spirit, and Michelle lives with a very conservative mother and takes time to realize who she really is.

It is quite hard to find good lesbian representation without it being fetishized, but this game represents us so well and in such a wholesome way. It really made me dig deep into the story from the start till the end.

I regret not buying this game at full price before, I really should've done it, but now I am looking forward to the next games the devs might release!

"i know i cannot expect everyone to be understanding. it is a continual struggle to feel truly accepted by everyone. but im ever hopeful. i have my own pride and dignity.
if i betray myself first, then what meaning would integrity have at all for me?"

this game was so beautiful. i almost wish i hadnt played it just so that i would get to read it again.

best h scenes in a yurige god bless. sam has a dangerous amount of game. we need more girls who bite in yuri

There aren’t enough lesbian games out there to begin with. I think that this story was beautifully done in a simplistic way. The adult patch was a nice addition, but overall, this was nicely done in a cultural context.

The aesthetic of this was really great. The vibrant colors with the soft art style and music in that 80s' style was a mood that really sold this for me.

The romance that happens between the two girls turned out to be quite sweet in a way that I wasn't fully expecting.

I wish I knew that the adult patch needed to me manually copied over for it to work before I finished reading half of it. The adult patch turned out to be quite tasteful and I think it only added to the experience.

I'm not fully aware of the history of Hong Kong but I think the creators succeeded with their creative project to bring awareness to the issues of freedom of speech in the region to people like me who were unaware.

everything abt this game is perfect

Predictably sentimental in just the right way for my little gay heart. The prose could've used another pass, but the game nails so much about being queer in conservative Asia that I don't feel like giving it too much grief.

this was was a nice wlw vn. beautiful cgs and tasteful love scenes. a bit on the short side but gives you just enough story to feel satisfied. the characters are fleshed out well and the pacing is smooth. good to play leisurely in order to follow michelle's journey of self-discovery.

A moving story about two women in love in 1980's Hong Kong. Excellent art, aesthetics, writing, characters and music come together for this lesbian's favorite romance game of recent memory.

A beautiful, vivid visual novel, highly recommend if you like: neon, WLW, Hong Kong, feeling maudlin about an era before you were born.

These damn lesbians made me cry!!!

Sam i think about you every day. one of the best lesbian games period also the music and art go crazyyyyy

Absolutely gorgeous artwork, satisfactory prose.

A game that you can say was written through "sapphic lenses". This visual novel captures the harsh difficulties a lot of queer, Asian people go through in stark detail.

From societal norms, familial expectations, lack of personal drive due to pressure, identity struggles, and many more, this game highlights many pivotal issues that affect the everyday lives of many queer people through breathtaking visuals, emotional dialogue, and overall complex (albeit sometimes a little one-note) relationships between the characters.

As someone who identifies with much of what's presented in this visual novel, I want to commend the dev for the amount of care and attention they put into the story and how it was portrayed. Not every life experience is the same, and the attempt to convey the different perspectives of each character in a way that doesn't fully vilify them for their flaws or differences is something I greatly appreciate

Overall, this is a very touching and aesthetically beautiful story that gives people the representation and hope they might want in their life— and during the time I found and played this game, it truly moved me in a way that I needed it to

The best parts are when the main character feels bad for just going out because her mother has been waiting all night. Being a really small thing, it nails that the guilt is not so much on how the mother really feels, but on the girl’s perceptions on how she always thought she ought to be (as expected, it turns out that it is not that much of a deal, although the game is also too bland presenting the conflict of views and needs between mother and daughter).

Getting that out of the way, the game lacks passion. The same passion that makes the girl want to change her life to be who she really is, that makes her fall in love, that makes her take risks. I even activated the “erotic” scenes out of curiosity (because I’m a pervert) and I’m pretty sure I can easily find Teletubbies clips with more blood in their veins than any sexual encounter here, let alone any kiss or any hug. And this is not only my complaint about the relationship not working but about the exploration of oneself necessities and desires not working, about the state (and problems) of living in Hong Kong in 1986 being whatever and at the end getting out with a bland, supposedly liberating, romance that is too shy to say anything out loud as much as it wants to.

love the aesthetic of this game so much

Beautifully illustrated. A tender and emotional love story. A soundtrack of wall to wall jams. It is a game with simple ambition and flawless presentation, few visual novels could possibly compare. 5 stars, I am so excited to see what Oracle and Bone come up with next.

look half the year hasnt even pass yet but i know this is the best game ill ever play in 2021 this game really hit close to home and everything from the art to the music to the story was SO GOOD!!!! !! !! i really enjoyed the entire ride!!!!

also the roller coaster ride from the high you get seeing michelle with sam and the anxiety you get from michelle confronting her mother after forgetting to let her know she will be home late for the nth time truly had me on edge. the real victim of the story was the expensive fish maw soup michelles mom made that just went down the drain

For as much as the material around the game flaunts its aesthetic, it's barely present in the product, and what is there can't make a frankly boring story more engaging. In some scenes, it does the opposite.

Dear visual novel writers: Hire an editor. You have to. If you don't think you have to, you especially have to. DM me, I'll do it for next to nothing.
