An immaculately polished run-based roguelike beat-em-up about climbing out of hell as an act of rebellion against your father, Hades. The storytelling links into the gameplay beautifully, and every bit of art, music, writing and voice acting are all done absolutely perfectly.

The best soundtrack with bass I've ever heard in my life and the best roguelike I've ever played in my life.

Incredibly fun roguelike with tons of potential for build creativity. The dialogue variety when talking to NPCs after each run also really breathes some life into the world and its characters. I don't think I've heard a single excerpt of dialogue more than once yet upon writing this review after clearing the final boss for the first time. And there will be many more times to come.

i like turning off my brain and just going zoom

Incredible game but fuck the Elysium

One of my favorite "smooth-brain" games - an experience with a central gameplay loop so satisfying that I'm totally absorbed regardless of the rest of the game. To its credit, the rest is also quite excellent, with the story and visual design deserving plenty of praise all on their own.

I managed to actually complete the epilogue, so I feel comfortable in leveling my one major critique of the game - it starts to get extremely repetitive after your first full run. The unlockable aspects of your weapons are cool, and the side quests do provide some nice motivation for continued play, but I felt my enthusiasm waning as the canvas of the story started retracting with each subsequent success.

Still, this is the best game Supergiant has made thus far (I have real high hopes for Hades II) and absolutely a worthwhile play for any Greek mythology fans or players looking for the next "endless" game to keep them satisfied.

In my mind, I've played it for 60 hours. On my Steam account, I've played it for 140 hours. In my heart, I haven't play it enough.

My entry into the roguelike genre has me looking forward to more! Similar to the Soulsborne/Metroidvania genre's I see myself playing a couple of these a year :)

From great storytelling to fast-paced and fluid combat I found myself committing an unexpected 50+ Hours to this game. Whether I was hunting to develop relationships with other NPCs, fulfilling prophecies or trying the endless combination of Boons and weapons, I was left quite satisfied.

In an otherwise half-baked era of video games, this title upholds its quality right the way through & for that, I am thankful.

Esta guapo pero me da palo seguir

Rogue-lites aren't really my thing but this was still a lot of fun. I really liked the characters! Thanatos is my bae.

Graphics:
The sound design is exceptional, the soundtrack especially is a perfect mix of metal and folk/traditional instruments. The whole ensemble is dynamizing and helps a lot to focus on the fights. The characters are fully voiced, each with thought and purpose put into their voice actors.
As for the graphics, the character designs are well-thought and interesting, full of course with mythological references. The world is vibrant, with deep shades and a lot of red colorimetry (depending of the zones, but it is the most prevalent one). The animations and vfx are sharp, the feedback is extremely satisfying especially with the amount of different effects given by the gods, that are easily distinctive despite the sheer amount of them. The UI as well is perfectly designed to be understandable and manageable, even with the motifs and decor it uses, which could be overcharged if it wasn't coherent.

Gameplay:
Hades is a very satisfying game to play despite it's difficulty. Everything is made to feel a sense of progress, which is often against the very nature of roguelike (or lite) games, but works perfectly for this title. Between the snippets of story, the effects, the upgrades... you rapidely get to a point where you feel almost invicible, and you get surprised by each death.

Story:
Zagreus is a rebellious, witty character in which a lot will relate to. The story explores a retelling of the greek myths of the Olympus' Gods, by the eyes of the son of Hades, Zagreus. As such it offers a new perspective on characters most of us know by name or by legend, but not quite so by their personality.

Replay Value:
Since it is a Roguelite, it is made to be replayable. Even after finishing the main storyline there is often much to explore.

Performance/Optimization:
Didn't encounter any bugs, and runs very well on my mobile gamer PC.

Pros:
Eveything that has to do with art
The lore
The feeling of ascension
The soundtrack
The satisfaction

Cons:
Might be a bit difficult first
No multiplayer

Final Thoughts:
My all-time favorite game, I would recommend it to everyone. If you enjoy greek myths, or a good story with well-thought characters, or just like to slash monsters to get to the top, play it !

Yeah Its pretty good.

Único jogo que tenho vontade de platinar.

One of the best Games of all Time!

It's so hard to put into words why I love this game, but this genuinely might be one of the best video games I've ever played. As someone who had very minimal contact with the roguelites genre (like? lite? I don't know...), I can confidentially say this was one hell of a first impression. There's so many elements to this that make it so much more enjoyable for me, like the fact that I already love Greek mythology and get to see more content that I'm familiar with, like references to other stories. Somehow the game manages to capture a new side of the characters, yet stay true to their source and I heavily appreciate it a lot. The actual story itself is pretty solid as well, while it's not anything absolutely mind-boggling, it's a tragic story that becomes hopeful and has a great premise. However, the characters are what make the story so good because everyone's a delight. Whether it's Zagreus with his cocky and "done with this shit" attitude, or the Olympians each with their own quirks, or Theseus with his bloated ego, or even Achilles just being a great mentor to Zagreus, or Sisyphus being an absolutely wholesome lad (despite his actual myth), all of these characters are fun to interact with and their dialogue (and voice acting too) are just perfect. The OST is also amazing, with each song fitting the vibe perfectly and most areas having a calmer part for normal battles and a metal part for the bosses. Some songs that really stick out for me are: The Painful Way, Field of Souls, The Exalted, The King and the Bull, and God of the Dead. Now after all that, we can finally get into the gameplay (there's so much to say about this game I love it). It's simple to start, but hard to master. The difficulty curve is pretty well done for the most part, I think the ONLY gripe I'd have is Elysium feels so much harder than Asphodel, but then I realized how this kind of game works: It gets easier over time. I needed to focus more on upgrading the permanent stuff and trying out new combinations, and eventually, I got my first clear. Soon, the rest would come and I ended with a five clear win streak on the last run before credits. There are six weapons, and each weapon feels great to use and has their own pros and cons, so everything feels viable. All the combinations with the Boons are great as well, and very rarely did it ever feel like my Boons were bad enough to cost me a run, rather it felt like it was my fault and that I needed to learn. All the Boon effects are really fun as well, I like making new combinations each time and figuring out what combos I can make that feel nice to play with. My personal favourite effects are Deflect, Crit, Doom, Hangover, and Chill, though all of them are great. There's a couple of annoying enemies to fight, and the bosses can be tough at times, but that makes beating them and finding great combinations so much more satisfying. Despite the repetitive gameplay, I could keep playing this for hours and hours and I'm definitely not done with it yet, though since I've reached the credits, I might as well do this review and log it. Overall, Hades is simply a masterpiece with many amazing qualities that make this game an addictive and fun game that I would go as far as to say is a "must play" for sure.
