Si Inscryption molara la mitad.

It’s more of Inscryption but without the story stuff. It’s fun but it’s also like, a lesser thing than the original game obviously.

Very good rogue like with a ton of depth and a great feel for gameplay. my biggest gripe is that i wish there was more to this game much like I wanted more of the original inscryption

A pretty damn solid game where you try to make broken cards while getting the shit ones out of your deck, I’m having quite a bit of fun with this

Inscryption but balanced except by balanced I mean heavy RNG based but still fun ok thank you goodbye.

not as strong as the base game but it's still a blast
also uh. uhhhh. hehehe.

A fun little Inscryption roguelike that works well enough but ultimately isn't as interesting as other roguelikes of the same genre.

Extremely addicting. Now we just need the other versions to be playable

Waay harder than the base game, and quite frustratingly so to be honest. While an endless mode like this makes perfect sense given the base game, I feel that winning or losing is entirely out of your hands to the RNG gods most of the time. Huge power variance between cards worked fine in the base game but is quite irritating here

I said that "Just act 1, with some rebalancing and ascension and all that stuff might have been a great game." in my review of the full game
So yeah, it's not quite there but it's pretty decent

i loved inscryption a lot. its one of the best games i've ever played. i think kaycee's mod is the worst thing that could've happened to it. i understand that the first act of inscryption is really fun and i understand wanting to play more of it, but i think the greatness of inscryption was making this amazing potentially infinite roguelike card game and throwing it away.

when act 2 of inscryption starts its supposed to feel like a rip off. its supposed to feel like the game you wanted to play being taken away. thats what gives it weight. thats what makes you think about it for the rest of your playthrough. thats what makes the ending where you see leshy one last time hit so hard. this mode takes away that weight completely. now inscryption is the story mode to kaycees mod, the actual game.

i don't think anyone is wrong for wanting or liking an infinite mode of a great game, but to me it will always be a blemish on an otherwise perfect game.

Wonderful addition to the game, all of the challenges and new cards are pretty fun. I wish it was a bit more obvious what some of the new cards do. Some of the new cards clearly have hidden synergies but are hard to pick if you are unsure on what they are/how they work. Great addition to a great game.

Doing a review for something that is in Beta and also an add-on/mod may seem redundant but Kaycee's Mod has given me more entertainment than most games over the past few months so I felt I just had to spread the good word.

To not spoil this or Inscryption (my 2021 GOTY) what Kaycee's mod does is take the first act of the main game and let's you continue to play for longer and with more options.
Some of these options added in may be recognisable if you have played further into the game, some of these options are brand new cards.

On top of this Kaycee's mod adds challenge modifiers, these modifiers hinder you in lots of different ways and (arguably) get increasingly more difficult the more you unlock and if that wasn't enough you can, and should, try multiple challenges at once.

To give the game even more life you also get access to different starting decks which can be unlocked along the way and if the story and lore of Inscryption's world is why you want more this provides a little of that too.

I've cleared all the challenges but there is more I want to do. Get this downloaded, it's free if you have the base game and I believe is definitely worth your time.

fun as fuck play inscryption yall

La expansión del genial Inscryption en forma de Roguelike

If you finished Inscryption and wanted more of Act 1 this will scratch that itch, but I'd say it gets old after a few runs. Welcome addition to the game.

Decent fun, though being penalized a pelt card on your next run for using the menu to quickly give up on your current run is an insulting time waster, modded that shit right out the first time it happened to me lol. But yeah, cool little card game, this expansion really pushes the limits of its design and gets insanely difficult when you toggle all challenges

Didn't bring me back into the game. Maybe just not actually that necessary.

RNG hell
It's good if you want more Inscryption. The card game mechanics are fun but honestly this extra mode is disappointing.

I expected more for an endless mode, like instead of deleting many items and puzzles from act 1, it could have added more to do on the cabin. You just unlock 3 unique items and that's it.
There's only one new event (the card painting one) and you unlock a small selection of cards by completing the challenge requirements.

I wanted more
More stuff from the other acts, like bosses, cards, mechanics.

Thanks to the rebalance It's more like a less fun version of act 1.
It's very frustrating and you just pray to RNGjesus that the game throws you a bone... then you proceed to exploit a busted synergy thanks to a totem, or the black goat, or the mantis god, or the dire wolf. The goal is to find a broken combination using what the game throws at you, but it's very easy to stomp Leshy once the ball gets rolling. Good luck with that though, because the higher the challenge level is, the more frequent your defeat at the hands of bullshit will be.

I've clearly been corrupted by the OLD_DATA because I can't stop playing this fucking thing.

It is a fun expansion if you want some more Inscryption, but I hate that they took away some of the insanity of the base game, and it sometimes feels unfair, if you want a more balanced Inscyption tough this is for you.

you can play the best part of inscription as much as you want

While Act 1 is everyone's favorite part of Inscryption the actual card game mechanics were, at least for me, one of the smallest parts of that. The cards are good throughout, what elevates act 1 is the immense sense of mystery and intrigue, the stoat and stinkbug, clues from previous victims, the feeling that even in your deaths you're building toward a plan to outsmart your captor, stakes being so high that your dude is willing to rip out a tooth for one extra point.

Turns out when you strip all that down and amp up the RNG/roguelike stuff it makes for a significantly less captivating experience. By the end of the core game the story contains practically zero of what initially hooked me, so even though there's probably more lore to uncover in here I'm not really interested in hearing it. Can't help but feel the existence of this narratively undermines the main game a little, too.

It's still good, and I'll probably return to it often enough, but I have to massively disagree with those claiming this is the better version or what the core game should be. On paper, sure, it's the universally-agreed best part of game expanded, but missing all the elements that made that part feel so fresh, made it feel more than just an addictive card battler.

great addition to a great game

What can I say? They made Inscryption act 1 but better and endless. Fucking amazing. 10/10.

This is moreso a part of the full game now I think, but I'd like to say that this rules. It takes the best part of Inscryption and expands upon it in to turn the game into the roguelite that people expected at the game's release. I generally don't like roguelites or card games, but this game's presentation and simple mechanics make it appealing too look at and easy to pick up. I've cleared level 12 and beaten the final boss, but I'll likely be playing more to get all the cheevos over time. Good game.

My biggest problem with Inscryption was that after the big twist, nothing matches the first act in terms of shock, spectacle, atmosphere, or most importantly gameplay. Kaycee's mod just takes the peak of Inscryption's gameplay, builds on it slightly, and makes it a full game. Incredibly fun.
