Peak Fiction ...its incredible how this game able to difend PS2 and still had better graphics and polish than most of 70% games today ...i just underselling it for what is worth ....its funny that most people who play it had forgotten its Main themes and Message and never learning anything from it after we living in the same Digital Hell That what this game Warning about 20 years ago ..damn

How did Kojima and Konami go band for band with themselves and win

the controls are weird but this game is :0

Decided to run through this game and wow man, Hideo Kojima really is a visionary, the writing of every character feels so nuanced and almost every scene carries emotion and weight behind it, it plays absolutely amazingly, has no boring sections at all, and I'm so excited to finish this mgs marathon.

Really fun feeling game despite the ps2 era metal gear games having a stigma of being janky, really engaging story that's well paced and never really dragged for me. The last 2-3 hours were byfar the strongest part like everyone else says

My personal favorite of the series. Genuinely loved Raiden's story, the gameplay mechanics were fantastic, and loved the overall feel of the game. One of the games I love coming back to.

when you're the best metal gear solid:
hi i'm metal gear solid 2

First time I played this, I was way too young to get a lot of the core messages, but the actual gameplay was an absolute joy. Second time, the gameplay still held up, but I could see that Kojima was trying to tell a very important story about a world that was becoming true every year after this game released. Kudos to the whole team for doing something this ambitious in 2000-2001

I always like to keep the bonus content for after I've completed the game, so experiencing every emotion under the sun during that ending to then go skateboarding as solid snake truly was an interesting experience.

The game was played on legal copy bought on GOG, before delisting. I used V's Fix, because the game doesn't support modern controllers and resolutions.
The gameplay is inproved MGS1 gameplay with new First-Person View aiming feature. Both main characters play almost identically. The stealth system is much more ruthless. Guards can see much further, though they still notice you only in their "cone" of sight, and alert is provoked only after the guard requests backup on the radio. The story is much more confusing, than the story of MGS1, but everything is explained in late game. The bosses are fun, but on higher difficulties, they are unfair. After Playing MGS3, I can say, that MGS2 is the hardest game in the series.
Still, I think that this game is necessary to play through, if you have completed MGS1.

No! That is NOT Solid Snake!

I could not stop staring at Raidens hips and ass the entire time. That’s it. That’s the review. Don’t even get me started on when he has no clothes on.

During my first session, the main thing I thought was that I'm playing the best videogame sequel ever made. And then I had a lot of fun slipping on bird shit.
Just a really good game. Keeps every strength of the original and otherwise improves and expands. Delivers a great story where I wish so bad I did not know the infamous twist beforehand, because god was it cool. Like, I even want to replay this one before continuing on to 3.

Somehow, Raiden managed to avoid drowning.

the mgs game that aged the best

It was my first time beating this game after getting through the whole series, and you know what? There's something I've understood after that walktrough. I like MGS2 much more than MGS3.

I'm not trying to say that I hate MGS3 or something like that, no. There're just some things that make me appreciate this game more than MGS3. I'm talking about the atmosphere and plot.

I don't know how should I put it, but these aspects seem very unique for me, literally unrepeatable. The scenario itself is probably the strongest part of this game, though it may seem kind of secondary at first and having too much MGS1 references. But the deeper we go, the better the plot becomes.

Speaking of atmosphere... It's a very subjective thing (just like every opinion, though), and I'm afraid there's no way I could've accurately explain why I like the atmosphere that much. Something very personal + that PS2 game vibe, I guess.

By the way, I like the gameplay too. Comparing to the future titles, there the gameplay feels very intensive and stressful, always keeping the player on guard. It also provides a lot of interesting gameplay moments, which I lacked in my MGS3 revisit...
It's also great that there's some additional gameplay content like Snake Tales and VR mission you can play. Yeah, it's a lazy content, even a disappointing one, but still. I love it when the game has a lot to do and it's replayable.

You might not agree with me, but I'm OK with that. After all, we're all different, aren't we?

Just finished it. One of the best games I've ever played.
The way Hideo Kojima tell a story is something else. The political themes presented here are more atual than ever.
Other than some minor nitpicks, it's pratically a perfect game.

An expanded version of perhaps one of Kojima's best games

is MGS2 really that good? not only is it that good it is just operating on an entirely different level

Kojimbos most experimental game of the original metal gears, and it paid off. Every strength from the original is kept and expanded upon, and it fucking rules.

did Kojima predict me beating the game then reading dozens of reviews on a game reviewing website that has thousands of unfiltered video game reviews that don’t contribute to society and doesn’t help me progress as a human

One of the very few games whose story is inextricable from its nature as a video game. A paranoid treatise on sequelitis, emulated violence, manufactured consent, and the Information Age. Weirdly prescient. Love Big Shell's desaturated greys and greens, too.

gameplay boa história bem boa diálogos mt fodas final redondinho, surpreendente
