Technical issues aside, this game is wonderful. Super fun open world stuff, they finally made it good after working at it since Sword and Shield. The release state is unacceptable though.

Nemona is cool, everything else isn't lol

tirando as limitações gráficas e lugares muito feios, a gameplay é MUITO boa. A forma que você upa os pokemons foram pensadas de uma forma muito boa e visa a diversão do jogador e não um grindind infinito.

stole this from brother so i could play it. definitely a step in the right direction

this game makes me mad (not as mad as SwSh tho)
the core gameplay is the best (of the dual-release games) since BW2, straight up. Decent exploration, best difficulty since USUM, (which for Pokemon means i almost wiped like, once), best rival since Hugh, genuinely decent story with like, actually the best climax in the series surprisingly enough.
why oh why did it have to have like, a 3 year dev cycle then? this game did NOT need to come out in 2022 when PLA had JUST released.
everyone knows how shit this game runs. everyone knows all the bugs, everyone knows that it looks like shit. like, it's all this game is known for. it's genuinely deplorable and I'm SO glad I wasn't the one who paid for my copy.
if this game had gotten like a year or 2 more of dev time it could've been the best Pokemon game EVER, they could've pulled it off, but gamefreak and TPC are allergic to the idea of there not being a new mainline game every 2 seconds so it didn't happen. Now I'm stuck sitting here like a dumbass genuinely defending this game in a lot of aspects despite the fact that it sucks so much shit in so many other ones.
whatever, still like a 7/10, especially with the DLC, it's like a solid B+ and i wish it could've gotten more time. gamefreak is such a cancer company.

Ah yes, Scarlet and Violet, probably one of the most controversial pokemon games. Not because of the story or anything.. but because of what it is. What it is, is a beautiful mess. This game could of been perfect.. it was so close.

Minor things I like:

I really like how the Pokedex in this game is like, idk how to describe it but it's like their encyclopedias? And I like how it shows you a cute lil picture of the pokemon :mewhenmyfriends:. I like how this game has no HMs, but instead they're kind of implemented with Koraidon and Miraidon. I love the silly sandwich enjoying lizards.

I also just might be biased but I really like how this game is overworld and the pokemon actually moving around and doing shit like in Arceus. Sure they may fall through the floor and glitch out sometimes but it's a nice small change I enjoy. I wish we still had the catching from Arceus though, and running for my damn life from a giant ass pokemon.

Once you get past the tutorial, you can pretty much do whatever you want in whatever order, which is actually really nice. I appreciate not being told what to do and taking shit at my own pace. I kinda wish this was implemented better since the leaders have set levels, but it's not a bad start.

The pokemon in this generation is also pretty solid. I enjoy the starters a lot, mainly Meowscarada but maybe I'm based because I'm a cat enjoyer. I also really enjoyed Tinkaton, I mean who doesn't. Obviously I didn't enjoy every single design but so many of them were really solid. I like the ancient ruins mythical ones.. especially the lil snail guy. And I really like Koraidon.. maybe a bit more than Miraidon.

I'm not gonna lie I was going to pick Violet first, but I got Scarlet first, and it grew on me a lot, mainly the area zero mons. Violet has cool paradoxes too.. but some of them are a bit eh, reminds me of that one SpongeBob episode where Squidward goes into the future and everything's like metal and shit. Iron Valiant is fucking sick though, love the shiny.

I also want to mention just how absolutely fucking :why: and gender these character DESGINS are. Like, I'd let Rika give me elite four therapy sessions all day everyday, and I want Grushas gender like ZAAAAAMN. Even characters that don't hit that hard for me still look awesome. I mean, they made an everyman like Larry a fan favorite (and also a favorite of mine.)

I also like Team Star, it's a nice refresher from the other typical villian team, and besides they're not really villains I'm pretty sure they were bullied a lot which is really sad becusse I fucking love team star they're all my kids now everyone else go home ‼️‼️ (I want Giacomo's gender)

And I obviously gotta talk about Path of Legends.. oh my fucking god I cried when Mabosstiff got up and got the ball oh my fucking god. I enjoy the turn of events where mfs will first meet Arven and be like "damn this guy's an asshole" and then an hour later are on their knees working to heal his poor dog. Sure he's got daddy/mommy issues but I love Arven I want to hug him so hard since the others mfs wouldn't. Arven deserved so much better and it pretty sad to see everyone kinda brush over him like "damn sorry bro about your dad/mom but LOOK AT THE PLAYERS MOTORCYCLE!!!!!!!!" He deserved a hug atleast, but NOPE!!!!!

Penny is also such a funny character to me. Like most expect her to be this shy bitch (she still kinda is), but it turns out, she probably knows your IP and will drop it. I really love Penny too, I like how her team consists of eeveelutions. She definitely writes/reads fanfics on AO3 and sends them into the rival/team star gc at 3am. Also I know she's from galar I think? So she's canonically British, holy shit. Also I want her hair. I found it funny when she literally pulled a "nobody asked". I live to have her amount of sass.
Nemona is not that bad of a rival either. She may be a stalker, but I enjoy how passionate she is to have you as an actual rival for her. I also kinda like the not twist but idk what else to call it that's she's already close to being a champion of some sorts? I wonder what it be like if we saw her champion champion team she spoke about in the early game, I assume it's the one she uses in the ace tournaments but idk. She's so blissfully ignorant sometimes, but it adds some charm, or atleast sometimes. Other times she just kinda comes off as a bitch lmao.
I also liked/hated the spikes of difficulty. Like obviously some bosses/titans/gyms are easier than others, but honestly I wasn't expecting Iono to pull out the levitate no weakness Midreavus like damn bitch. And also the professor fights but that's a given honestly. Also Arven swept me off my feet in that lighthouse battle but that was my fault for being under leveled tbh.
Now, there were some things I could see coming. Some twists that just were obvious. But goddamn, I did NOT see the twist of the professor being fucking dead and replaced by an AI one that's been talking to you the whole game. This is the kind of bat shit insane stuff I want in a Pokemon game lmaoooo. But the way the told Arven his mother/father always loved him.. that hit hard. Not to mention the team was.. zamn. Definitely not the easiest battle. Another small detail I like about this part is when everybody's pokeballs are locked except for Koraidon/Miraidons because it technically belonged to the professor? That's a really fucking good detail that I don't see many people mention.
I think terastallization isn't a bad gimmick. It's not my favorite, but it's kinda cool being able to switch types, but also oooh shiny sparkly trinket pokemon go brrrrr. Obviously megas are still kinda the best, but I think this is a close second. Pretty schnazzy.

I like how you have picnics and make sandwiches in this game. I'm pretty shit at it because whenever I put the bread down everything just fucking explodes but oh well. Besides I'd rather eat a nothing but pickle sandwich than curry. Mmm samwich😋😋😋.

I also like how you can dodge trainer battles without having to do some crazy footwork to dodge them. Like it's optional, thank fuck cause I was getting tired of my team being on life support and having to do some goofy ahh battle. You can even run from them too, but I think you just blackout so you might as well die trying.

Raid Battles are kinda buggy and full of dumbasses, but still they're not bad, I mean it was like this in Sword and shield too but.. not as slow. Stop bringing fucking Azumarills into poison type raids I'm begging you I don't care if it's ev trained perfect ivs and shiny.

I kinda wish the post game had more. Like it's nice to talk to the rivals and see Arven try to separate himself from his mom/dad and reaching about them and Penny making sure Team Star is doing okay being back in school and Nemona doing.. idk what nemona does I didn't talk to her woopsies.

I don't know much about the dlc but I'm hoping the rivals are there. I want to hug Arven. Give me a hug Arven feature. I want to see the silly people again I need my sillies please please.

Now... The elephant in the room. The graphics. Yeah I can't really defend them. This is the main gripe and it kinda keeps it from being perfect. Why couldn't this game look like breath of the wild. I know that would take a long ass time but holy shit it would be amazing and make my switch sound like a jet engine. But something people don't notice is that the characters look very detailed, and the pokemon too. Like you can see every strand of Arvens hair and the fabric on Nemonas shirt and the fluff on Penny's backpack. And the fur and the shiny metal on the pokemon.. I will give them that. But c'mon.. I wish they were given more time to polish some shit. I also personally never really had a problem with crashing or anything but I guess it did lag a slight bit. But that's what happens when you play for hours and hours.

The music in this game is so fucking good. The gym battle theme, the song you hear going down to Area Zero.. when that chorus hits.. GODDAMN ITS GOT ME FLOATING!!!!! Penny's theme is also such a fucking banger, I'm pretty sure Giacomo did all the themes for team star, and HE DID A FUCKIN GOOD ASS JOB LIKE ZAAAAAMN. I'm also pretty sure Toby Fox, the guy who did Undertale helped with the music too and I can tell because holy shit this music got my back arching toes curling lifting my body off the ground like OH SHIT.

This game is peak. I don't care what critics say, I don't care what genwunner say. It was so close to being absolutely perfect. I will forever defend this game I'm the number one Scarlet and Violet Defender.

Game Freak has set a new record by making the first game that looks like it was made on a Samsung Smart Fridge.

9 Great open world. Love the Pokémon

Me parecio bueno pero tiene muchas cosas que podria mejorar

Everything about this game revolves around the fact that is pokemon, only! This product is extremely poorly optimized making the experience tiring on many occasions. The story is cool, nothing too deep. Finally, as I said at the beginning, the fact that you are a Pokemon trainer and collect them, saves your experience with the game.

Menys optimitzat que una equació igualada a 100. Azumarill t’estimo.

Pokemon is awesome but this game isn't.

I wish this game was better, because it's not great, but I’d be lying if i said i didn’t have more fun with it than ultra moon

it's a fun game, i love the exloration and the pokemon are so fun

It is midnight, I have played this game for 80 hours over the past couple weeks, and I would like to write an earnest review on my feelings for this game that can't really be constructed at the moment.

Playing it initially it was one of my least favourite Pokémon gen’s coming back to it found a lot to enjoy but, the bugs are still such a big problem that it distracts from what could have been fantastic.

the paradox pokemon are way fkin cooler in this game

Fun game, but not as good as other pokemon games

No mundo competitivo tudo ficou extremamente melhor (menos a permanência do Urshifu)

Hot Take: Você poderia ter sido o melhor jogo da Franquia

Actually kinda innovates the formula a decent bit. Too bad the game is nearly unplayable with how laggy and unpolished it is.

Discarding the initial bugs (that now are solved) not bad. Not the best open field game, but the history and some characters are not bad (the two part dlc is better than sw/sh's don't @ me). But this could be so much better if you really can go anywhere you want, for example

Felt more like a proof of concept for an open world Pokemon game than a fully fleshed out game, and I say that disregarding the performance problems.

This game should be a lot better than it already is, so much wasted potential especially with the dlc
