Only did the Shovel of Hope campaign but Shovel Knight still remains one of the best 2D NES inspired platformers I’ve ever played. Very much inspired by the Mega Man games and Ducktales but with more modern gameplay improvements that make it a very fun time.

This game is interesting to me because as someone who never grew up with the SNES games or someone that never really had a particular care about the 2-D platformer, yet this game for some reason clicked with me, like this is one of those games that despite me having a few complaints, I would play over and over again, so for this review I am going over the base game and the other chapters individually.

Shovel knight: shovel is hope is by all accounts one of the most satisfying experience to have with a game, from the music being Iconic and catchy, to the bosses being just interesting and unique, nothing in this game felt repetitive like each stage is as different as they are from the rest, the best way to describe why it is so good is the gameplay, the shovel mechanic feels so great to use, especially on the tougher areas, with the platforming being a mixture of fun, but not too easy with spikes and insant falls, honestly this game has so much going for it that I would love to see more of it, easy recommendation.

Spectre knight: Spectre of Torment is pretty decent as a Shovel knight spin-off.

Plague knight: Plague of shadows, another good one that has a great if frustrating gameplay mechanic.

King knight: The best one stuck with an annoying gimmick.

Overall: thgis game is very excellent and is the most fun I had with a 2-D platformer in a while, pick it up, it is really damn good.

liked it. cool game. spectre knight kinda sucked

Really fantastic game! The original campaign is super solid, but the additional ones for King Knight, Plague Knight, and Specter Knight add a good bit of variety while also giving a lot of love to these characters.

This game is literally Born to Shit Forced to Wipe I will not explain further.

Fun as fuck to revisit and they gave you like 4 extra games for free. Yacht Club stays on top.

Not really "Completed" as I only played the base game. It didn't instantly click with me in the beginning, but after giving it some time the movement felt good and the attacking from above was a fun twist.
Soundrack and visuals are also top-notch.

El verdadero padre de los indies,de paso trae a pe Kratos osea 11/10

very charming and I like that shovel knight loves his wife, its a nice love letter to 8 bit gaming, having a souls mechanic in a platformer is fucked up though. Not gonna play the treasure trove expansions, not worth my time.

Nice indie game, didn't finish it but might come back in the future.

Além de uma grande homenagem aos jogos de SNES é um plataforma sensacional, um dos melhores.

this game cooks me, excellent tho

9/10

A classic 16-bit platformer in modern clothing. This game has it all: a great soundtrack (bops), great level design, great character design, great visuals, a cheesy but fun story and to top it off additional campaigns which are particularly fun. Spectre of Torment has a particularly tragic but amazing story that surpasses the base game. Overall the presentation of this game is second to none, and a true nostalgic platformer that I would recommend to new and old players.

Um jogo clássico bem aos moldes antigos, sua gameplay é seu foco absoluto, mas ainda consegue ter um belo charme no jogo como um todo, sendo difícil no começo mas absurdamente fácil no final o que deixa a desejar um pouco

I reviewed each of the games individually, so this is just a composite rating of all four. This is a really solid collection of platformers that was made with a lot of love and care. One of my favorite indie games/series out there

you are digging your way out of this one boys!

gameplay and level design are both top notch, and the characters' play styles are all varied and interesting. very replayable, too.

Not the greatest game I've ever played but DEFINITELY one of my favorites. It was just really charming I loved all the characters they're so silly. I am #1 plague of shadows defender. Also playing on 3ds is the best I think especially for PoS

As a whole this game is fantastic. it has so much value and a ton of content. a full game’s worth of 4 separate campaigns and they all play entirely different with varied level designs, great cast of characters, fun boss fights, amazing level design, fantastic mechanics, the list goes on. I’d recommend this to any fan of the genre

The game that really sparked my love for indie games, revisited it a week ago, and its even better than I remember!

Llego super tarde a este juego pero sigue siendo una joyita como cuando salió.
Puede ser frustrante a veces, pero el juego está tan bien hecho en general y tiene tanto encanto que se le perdona.

Initially played the 3DS release of Shovel Knight, back when it was just Shovel of Hope, and started Plague of Shadows but did not complete it. Later, when Treasure Trove released, I bought the Switch version and eventually earned 100% completion on each of the four campaigns, minus any Joustus-related content in King of Cards. I did not go for any achievements, and I will not be clearing the remaining challenges, but I might replay the four main games down the road.

Rapaz não é que o jogo é bom.

A truly excellent platformer.
Four campaigns plus a platform fighter in one package. (Plus a card game)
And it's all fun.

One of the best Indie Games I ever played

masterpiece. the game is fun to play. the expansions add unique gameplay
