Undoubtedly the greatest action RPG the world has ever seen. The quantity without forgetting quality of this game's content is absolutely mind-blowing, you have never seen anything like this. The game's world-building is nothing short of masterful, meticulously crafted in every detail. Each side quest, whether from the base game or DLCs, is a narrative gem, carefully woven into the fabric of the game's universe.

Plus, the cinematography in every quest is on point, even the side ones, eschewing the repetitive shot-reverse-shot formula seen in other third-person action RPGs. The Witcher 3 delivers some very decent scenes and shots throughout its 150+ hour gameplay and i have yet to see another game pull this off.

This game also has the greatest extentions ever, so good they have become essential the player's experience. They add so much to the game you can't imagine playing without them. Both so well written and constructed it's actually ridiculous.

in conclusion please buy the game

TLDR: 10/10 from be but still has flaws and dropped plot points. BUY THIS GAME and good luck on the path Witcher.

I did not expect this turn around after playing the Witcher 1 or even 2 for that matter. 1 Was just bad and 2 was noticeably better but still just a ok game, only really good looking next to 1. This outing was so exceptionally well done that this game has sold over 50 million copies even though its a third installment in a series where next to none have played the predecessors. Geralt and his close companions finally feel fleshed out and the world building is as good as you can get in one game.

Spoilers:

There are of course downsides, no game is without flaw. there is quite a few dropped plot points like the last crone surviving, many of he lodge sorcerers being forgotten and being 11th hour characters, the wild hunt enemies not being fleshed out, a good but not edge of seat sitting level of story, For a a game being so perfectly written, it still has moments where characters lose iq like any other game, like my boy D turning on you and roach OPENLY WITH LIKE 2 HENCHMEN WITH HIM planning to rule Timeria for himself banking on the fact geralt will stay out of the conflict when geralt just showed he does pick sides lmao. This may be due to scrapped game concepts though which there was a lot if you look into it. Oh and you can kill Radovid (in a moment he also loses braincells but this can be easily explained due to madness) and no one in the world bats an eye.

While i listed a lot of world or story nitpicks... i didnt notice any of them during my actual gameplay due to how fun the game was, i did every sidequest and contract willingly. You only notice these minor issues in retrospective once someone points it out lol. Anyway im rambling, 10/10 will be getting Witcher 4.

Fantastic worldbuilding (see Witcher 2 review), great characters, great gameplay, good story, and great soundscape.
Furthermore, Gaunter O'Dimm is one of the best portrayals of a mystical character I've ever seen!

Moved from Xbox to PS4 so of course, had to buy and eventually play through again. Probably my favourite game ever.

Best open world I’ve played in. 10/10 exploration, atmosphere, music. The evening / sundown lighting is beautiful.

Gameplay is simple (dodge, swing, Quen) but satisfying and didn’t get too old after hundreds of hours.

Story is gripping, all the characters feel real with their own motivations.

Going back to Toussaint was a delight, love the more on-the-nose fairytale stuff, and this time I pimped out my villa more.

10/10 game best combat, great stories and dlcs, and great exploration

A small Polish studio shakes the gaming industry out of nowhere with the last installment of The Witcher series.
Despite having a simple story, all the subplots and characters make up for it; The Witcher 3 has a great story, arguably one of the most immersive and well-written stories in a western RPG in my opinion.
The gameplay, unfortunately, is one of The Witcher 3's weakest parts, however, it's decent nonetheless; it feels satisfying and it plays well for the most part, it just lacks depth and the movement feels a bit floaty.
The RPG elements are not necessarily deep, but they're well executed. There is a fair amount of different equipment, perks, upgrades and status effects that can affect the gameplay. On the other hand, the dialogue options and different outcomes are done masterfully, the highlight of the entire game.
The quest design is excellent as well for the most part. Aside from some chores sprinkled through the game, the side-quests in The Witcher 3 are some of the best I've seen in a videogame in general.
Also, the game has a ton of mandatory and optional content, and both of the expansions are absolutely impressive.
Lastly, the music is incredible and the graphics are beautiful.
The pacing of the game, however, is not perfect; the story in particular takes quite long to get going.

Pros:
+ Fantastic narrative
+ Amazing characters
+ Dialogue options
+ Quest design
+ Tons of content
+ Gorgeous visuals and soundtrack

Cons:
- Story padding

Narrative: 9/10
Gameplay: 6/10
Content: 10/10
Characters: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10

Final Rating: 10/10

While not exactly flawless, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a perfect videogame experience and arguably the best western RPG ever made without feeling overwhelming for non-RPG lovers.

Do I recommend it?:
A must-play videogame for literally everyone.

One of the best games I have ever played!
Amazing story, great gameplay mechanics, awesome trilogy ending!

This game is fundamentally rudimentary in its gameplay and mission design. This as a result of its long story (overly drawn out) makes this game tedious. It got old after the 20-hour mark of doing the same thing over and over again but only enduring it because the writing kept me invested. This is no masterpiece of a game by any means for the sum of the whole experience. However, I love this The Witcher world, and this game was well put together (not the main story, it had some plot contrivance and overall, a boring quest to find a mcguffin). The side quests were all great, the characters were so well-written, and the world-building was exquisite. The world is beautiful with a memorable and sensational score. If one can look past the surface and level gameplay then one can appreciate this game. Took me a while to find that appreciation but I did, and I was taken by this game.

The Witcher? More like, the Bitch, er 😳

After The Storm, Spikeroog, Priscilla Ballad, Aen Seidhe, Steel for Humans...

The individual components of gameplay are not particularly fun, and cannot support the game on their own. It does, however, present a fantastic experience; those who appreciate it, playing the game as a movie or book, would enjoy their time. Gameplay-oriented minds, however, are likely to be disappointed.

I use mods to make the gameplay fun, and I find that it empowers the core fantasy dramatically when you not just get to be a half-participating spectator of it, but its core driving force. I wish the base game was like this, personally.

Magic Mommies

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is hands down one of the best RPGs I've ever played., Seriously, this game is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. From the moment you start playing, you're sucked into this incredibly detailed world filled with monsters, magic, and political intrigue.
The storyline is just...wow. It's so rich and immersive, with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. And the characters? They feel so real, with their own personalities, motivations, and flaws. You really get invested in their journeys, which makes every decision you make feel weighty and important.
And let's talk about the world itself. It's massive, but it never feels empty or boring. There's always something to do, whether it's hunting down monsters, exploring hidden caves, or just chilling in a tavern playing Gwent. And speaking of Gwent, don't even get me started on how addictive that card game is!

The Game of the Year Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt makes this one of the most complete videogame experiences ever, with 2 amazing expansions and an insane amount of additional content.

An absolute monster of a videogame.
The main story is very well made with an exceptional cast of characters, and the writing is fantastic, everything in the game has depth to it.

The amount of content is absolutely ridiculous, at first you might get overwhelmed by all the activities the game throws at you, but exploring the map and doing side quests is definitely worth it, this game has perhaps the best side quests I've ever experienced, and the quest design is phenomenal.

The dialogue options are groundbreaking, almost every quest has different outcomes and interactions, it's insane. Your actions have consequences and if you're not careful, you can miss entire questlines that can alter your entire experience with the game.

Also I think it's worth mentioning how beautiful the soundtrack is, it's pretty much one of the highlights of the game and really sets the tone perfectly.

It's an all-around solid game, it does almost everything very well, except from the gameplay which is a little bit clunky so you'll have to get used to it.
The biggest problem I have with the game personally is the amount of filler and padding in the first half of the story, it's a slow burn and takes too long for the pacing to get good, however, even when it's slow, it's still great and has so many things to offer.

The Open World is one of the best I've ever explored, it's very enjoyable from start to finish, there are so many things to do in this game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt achieved the impossible, it's unbelievable how a small Polish studio managed to create a remarkable videogame like this one.

Final Rating: "Masterpiece" ~ 10/10.

One of the best games I've ever played. Calling this game big is an understatement... This game is ENORMOUS! So much to do, side missions feel like the main story, monster contracts always have something new to offer, and the characters are super well-written. I miss the countless evenings that turned into nights playing this game, hopefully I'll be able to experience this magic one day again.
