I went through all my characters and used /played to display the playtime and added it up here...I estimated the time of my first character (Drulac, Paladin), which was on another account (of my sister's ex-boyfriend^^). I don't know what else to say about this game.
The World of Warcraft was real and I was a part of it.

I have a bit of a history with wow, in the negative sense. I tried getting into it from some friends who had experience in WOW and MMOs in general back during its second expansion. I couldn't keep up and abandoned it. A couple years ago I decided to try it again after a friend pestering me, and I did like what I played of it. Just played the first dungeons, and liked some of the lore, some of the design, and the Pandaren stories as a big fucking furry that I am. But because of its weirdness, blizzard's misguided direction, and not wanting to sink all my time in an mmo, I moved on. Did like what I played though, especially the pokemon stuff.
everytime i feel like im in the absolute peak of a depressive spell i go and look the video on youtube dot com titled "Asm-ng-ld's Lair" and proceed to realize that The Pression is not a one-size fits-all ailment, and comes in many different shapes and forms, at least im not breathing in hella mold spores from the soda cups i got a few months ago at the Watered Burger down the stroad.
played for about 2 months back in like 2010ish because i had a few friends who themselves fell victim to this peice of software for a little bit (they are not still playing it today, thankfully). every time i played with them i just kept saying to myself "I really could just be playing Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup instead and not have to be a 15 bucks a month sucker".

What can really be said for a review of WoW.
WoW is my personal GOAT of video games. It didn't always hold that title, but as the years have progressed I've grown to appreciate and love WoW more for what it is.
WoW truly can be played in so many different styles, there really isnt one specific way you have to play the game in order to have fun. Many people will focus on different things and find enjoyment out of the overall package. I personally am partial to the Leveling experience of classic and Mythic + Content in retail. If you take advantage of playing both Classic and Retail, the Sub fee starts to finally live out its value that its been missing for many years.
WoW is currently in the best spot its ever been, besides maybe the first year of Classic launching. I play it everyday, both Retail and Classic. Theres something to do every time you log in, and you will always manage to find some level of enjoyment, even from just sitting in Stormwind.
WoW has had many misses over the years, its why I gave it a 4/5. You cant excuse poor writing in Shadowlands, or the overall slog of some Expansions end games while you await the next. (WOD is a great example of this). Recently WoW has been trying to keep things fresh in smaller patches such as Plunderstorm.
Its hard for me to break down the story, gameplay, or other specific aspects of this game because of how vast and deep it all is. WoW is truly a one of a kind experience that I feel everyone should play just to see what the hype is about. From 2004-2024 this game has captured my heart and Im 100% certain ill be playing until the servers are gone or I am.
