Mid and very boring a lot of these sports game past 2010 usually end up that way unfortunately, it has some cool things such as MyGM mode but it doesn't do enough to justify the price, I would just try picking up the old smackdown vs raw games.

Fun and interesting showcase mode. Same features as 2K22, there are still lots of annoying bugs with universe mode and sometimes it takes 2K way too long to add fixes and new features. Also drip feeding DLC for 8 months is scummy and I hate it.

Mostly same stuff. I will say I enjoy the showcase in this game more than the year before. Universe is a bit more broken than before but GM Mode has made a lot of improvements and is really a good time

Fun if you have a friend to fight.

It doesn't matter what I rate these games, I love wrestling too much to not sink a stupid amount of time into them.

Pros
- Impressive amount of content on offer.
- Insanely crisp visuals and presentation.
- Another strong offering from the Showcase mode.
- Huge roster of wrestlers old, new and present.
- Controls felt good and familiar.
- War Games was a lot of fun and a great addition to the series.

Cons
- Some modes were shallow and lacked depth.
- Not enough variety in match types compared to older entries.
- Universe mode hasn't advanced as much as i'd of liked.

Que jogo massa, tão bom quanto na época do ps2.

Between its antiquated UI, slow uploads, and limited story telling options, I can't give it a 4 or higher. I do however love the character creator even with its limits and the ability to set up matches with your own group of abominations.

man I'm so disappointed that you can't edit the body to be more goofy. i kind of fell the same way for faces' too but you can get a little wacky so its not as bad

Con respecto al Modo Showcase...Te tqm John Cena.

After a number of mediocre games, the past 2 years have had decent WWE games, so thank u 2k for at least an attempt to improve your games. This is a good improvement over 2k23 that was quite good.

Muy interesante que el modo historia de John Cena consista en pegarle brutales palizas con musica rock de stock cutre.

A steady improvement over 2022, some of the DLC was good. Didn't enjoy the showcase as much as Mysterios... but overall continued the run of the newer 2k WWE games getting better.

Не рабочий онлайн, в остальном всё топчик

Meh, i tried it because i got nostalgic with the SmackDown vs Raw games and wanted to give a try to the new ones.
It's okay i guess, but i got bored really fast.

It sure was fun to beat up John Cena a bunch, but I wish there was more of a narrative to the showcase mode.

5 Stars purely because John Cena is the greatest of all time, amazing showcase.

Got this in Humble Bundle and I was happy to start making custom characters cause I love doing that. I mainly just remade OC's I already had, but I also made this fucker. The custom character creator is cool, but it's probably not as fun as other notable ones. It genuinely has a lot to it, but you can't get super wacky facial structures or body proportions cause they gotta be real humans for the most part.

I finished my time with it by doing my own Jerma Rumble and it is so fun just watching custom characters fight. The last thing I did was a Tag Team match of Picard and Worf vs Kinnikuman and Mantaro. Forgot I was controllling Picard and had him just beat Mantaro's ass off stage (illegaly, no one cared i guess).

The fun systems are largely the same, but this edition takes a half-step back from 2K22 in a couple of noticeable ways.

The roster is not as good as last year's, which is hardly the game's fault, but there's less fun to be had in playing around with all the available wrestlers when you're not exactly jazzed about half of them. The AI is fine but dumb in a couple of crucial places (ie. multi-man scenarios), and there's a couple of instances where certain special moves are nigh-impossible to pull off accurately (ie. Tyler Bate and Joe Gacy's signatures), which takes away from the fun here and there.

Slow-downs on PS4 are noticeable and frustrating, especially in multi-man matches. Game plays fine up to 6-man and then hits the brakes upward of that, which makes playing those modes just a tiny bit more frustrating.

As it's the main part of the game that I play, MyFaction this year feels like a bit of a sleepier rollout compared to last year. A distinct lack of Evolution cards and repetition of un-fun match types make the mode feel like a bit more of a drag. I wasn't as inspired to play through the single-player modes either, as they feel overly long and rely too heavily on the CAW suite, which I'm not interested in.

I still logged dozens and dozens of hours into this over the year, so I can't say I didn't get my money's worth, but I'm not nearly as into it as I was for 2K22.

Clunky and saw a few glitches in my playtime.

Seems to have a reduced number of features vs older games, with predatory currencies, microtransactions and nigh on £100 of DLC.

Bring back THQ.

Enjoyed it a lot for what it is, honestly could go back to it and play a lot more in future, didn't get all the way through the myrise mode yet, and GM mode is always fun to play

It never will not be funny to me that there is a button you can press in the WWE2K series which just gives free promotion to basically every other wrestling company

I still play this, the john cena story was fun to play through and 2K did good on the gameplay side of things

This game is currently in the Humble Choice for November 2023, and this is part of my coverage of the bundle. If you are interested in the game and it's before December 5th, 2023, consider picking up the game as part of the current monthly bundle.

Wrestling and Microtransactions. Of Course.

WWE 2K23 tries to remind players of why wrestling is big. It has all the big bright larger-than-life experiences that fans might want. The loud personalities, the big events, and the amazing spectacle, and in the right moment you’ll get caught up in it and see amazing stunts. While the controls feel almost like suggestions at times, it’s still awe-inspiring to see your chosen wrestlers dominate in the ring.

But the problem is there are so many negatives. There’s a whole microtransaction mode, but because of that mode, every character has a rating and a stat for the card. Very little feels custom, so when Hulk Hogan fights Andre the Giant, his size and weight aren’t accounted for. There’s also a lot of advertising like just the Snickers logo plastered everywhere because they sponsored Wrestlemania.

Pick this up if you love the spectacle of wrestling. You’ll buy this for the spectacle though, the rest of it is fine, but it’s just fine. However, for modern Wrestling fans, you probably already have this. For fans of the Legends of Wrestling, I’m sure there’s a better game out there than this. This just feels so gross with the microtransactions, and everything being a card, and there’s a lot of itemization even if not everything is paid for by cash. And yeah, that’s a modern game, or a modern sports game, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore or praise a game for diving into those practices.

I've been playing this weekly with my cousin in a 1v1 MyGm mode that we're several seasons into. The extra customization options they've added to MyGM have helped keep my favorite mode going strong for a second installment in a row.

Gameplay wise, the mechanics laid out in 2K22 are mostly the same, which is fine. But the series is already pivoting into some overly complicated shenanigans with the combo system. I don't find it very intuitive, and the mandatory usage of it in some narrative modes got real annoying.

Speaking of narrative, the John Cena Showcase sadly manages to be a downgrade from the Mysterio showcase in 22. I love the inventive angle on all the matches, and the finale it builds up to is a hilarious tribute to Cena's place in wrestling fandom. But why were the matches presented so wildly out of chronological order? And why didn't the historical footage during the matches have Cena providing contextual voice over like Rey did? The Showcase mode always felt like playing an interactive documentary. Here, it feels like playing an on-rails tutorial that's frequently interrupted by cutscenes.

Overall I'd say this ends up comparable in quality to 2K22. Everything that works keeps working, and the things that suck are on par with what dragged 22 down. At this point, future purchases are REALLY gonna hinge on some major expansions to the included modes.
