I played this as my second Fire Emblem game (after Fates) and enjoyed it, but it's not something that stood out to me that much. Some of the music is incredible though.

It's about what I expected except this time I actually like the kids more than the parents which is crazy. Awakening is better as a love letter anniversary game but disappointing as a SRPG. I appreciate what it did but not fun to play. The game, especially on higher difficulties, encourages you to grind more like a traditional RPG which goes against what makes Fire Emblem special. Emmeryn's whole ordeal didn't hit me like I expected which is unfortunate. She's not very impactful in the story sadly. Gangrel hard carries the story and truth be told, I enjoyed the DLC Future Past story more than the main story. Lucina and the kids are so wonderful and truly fulfill that close group of friends dynamic that I felt lacking with the parents. And the ending with Chrom watching Lucina is so bittersweet it made me smile. As for gameplay, while I do appreciate that the reclassing was limited and allowed for some customization, ultimately the game still boils down to pairing up and sweeping enemies. This game feels like a beta Fire Emblem Heroes book 1 where the stats are more important than the skills but watch out for some special skills occasionally that can really shock you. Overall, Awakening is a very mid Fire Emblem game for me.

Mi primer, y por ahora único, Fire emblem.

this game was the first step into realizing i liked men
