This is definitely one of those games that's more interesting to think about than to play. I feel like this game steps out of the shadow of Wolfenstein by going in a different direction with a survival dungeon crawler with a tad bit of Lovecraft in there. The biggest problem for me, however, is despite having many interesting ideas it's just not fun to play at points. There's a point after when you get your first submachine gun where the game starts picking up, but it drops the ball in the third act by filling its last levels with the worst enemies (most specifically the poison shooting spiders). Still an incredibly creative game, definitely would recommend checking it out. I feel like these Bungie guys are definitely going somewhere.

I feel like we should first start with the good. The character design is great, Dante looks amazing in this game with the long flowing cape. Lucia as a whole is a great addition she looks great, plays better than Dante, and I hope she gets to at least make a cameo in an upcoming game. Now the bad is literally everything else in this game. Boring gameplay, levels too large to its detriment, and the infested chopper. Everything about this game is so painfully boring, you can't even laugh at it. Itsuno (pratically a legend in the industry) had this game dumped on him, and I'm proud he was able to turn this into a functioning game in only 6 months. However, this is one of the worst games I've ever played.

I respect Ken Silverman for making this (a predecessor to the BUILD Engine) at such a young age. However, this game sucks, and I wouldn't even be that mad if the game didn't lock on me on the last map preventing completion.

Short, fun, with a spectacular premise of Resident Evil samurai. I played this game prolly 5 different times, getting the various achievements, and with things like the instakill counter system leading to an infinitely high skill ceiling. Honestly, very interested in where the series goes after this game.

The engine is fairly impressive having textured floors, ceilings, and sprites which make it seem like it's somewhere close to a real life space. Besides that every part of this game is horrendous. The game runs in a terrible framerate, the levels are huge labyrinths, there is simply so little ammo for a good half of the game, shoddy hit detection, the shooting doesn't feel good. I beat this game, but it singlehandedly put an end to my FPS binge.

I tried my hardest to play this, I really did. Same looking corridors and maze like levels along with a confusing key hunt. It just made this game appalling to play. Maybe I'll pick it up again, but I'd recommend never touching this.

This game is fantastic! I was originally apart of the camp which says this game aged bad, and if you feel that way then it is completely valid. However, I think this game just gets better as you play it, so after playing this game on Normal, Hard, and S ranking it on DMD I can safely say this game is really fucking good. On my first playthrough on normal I disliked the enemies, found the combat to be boring, and thought the story was fine. Though, once you keep playing you start to view the enemies as puzzle pieces, and start to view the quickest and most efficient way of destroying your enemies. Some unique ways to defeat enemies include: hitting Sin Scissors' weapon then shooting them in the face instakills them, you can jump on a Shadow's spear and shoot directly at their core, and you can knock Blades down and instakill them with a jump slash. Eventually you get to the point where you're deftly maneuvering the levels hitting your enemies' weakpoints. The game's biggest problem is the bosses are bullshit especially in DMD since they just decide to give them 4x the health. Yes, it isn't as fast as DMC3-5, but I think the game has a lot of charm to it especially the atmosphere I think it probably has the best atmosphere in the series. I also find the story endearing at this point. This game isn't the best in the series, but once you get deep into the game's nuances it truly becomes an enjoyable title.

(Fair warning, I played this game on PC and not on a mobile platform)

The bump system is pretty simple and basic, with most of the strategy revolving around positioning trying to hit the enemy at spots where they can't mount a counter attack. The game is short enough where it doesn't get too repetitive and the sense of progression is strong. However, I think this game is an absolute must play 100% because of it's presentation. This game is an audio and visual treat. The pixel art in game is just jaw dropping, and that doesn't even mention the music, some standouts being tracks like the final boss theme. Though, I, 100 times over, recommend using the art from the Ys Complete over the newer ones.
