This has soooo many issues but I really enjoyed coming back to this. I know the combat gets a lot of hate but I find it so satisfying. The story is a bit like uuuuuuh but after playing AW2 I really do appreciate what they were going for.

Sadly just did not get this one. It feels nice and sounds amazing and has one of the best moments of the year. But I finished it in 7 hours and just didn't want to play anymore and see what the NG+ was all about. I think one day I will come back to this and give it another go, but I just WISH I got it.

Was really not enjoying this, played up to the end of the campaign and stopped but was meaning to get back to it at some point to get the platinum. And to also see what I was missing.

Started my hardcore character today, played for an hour and then I died because the server crashed. What an awful experience.

Cannot say enough good things about this. Literally watched Arrival again in August and said to Niamh "imagine someone made a game about this" and then on a random day in September, Jason Schreier tweeted "hey this game came out of nowhere and it's good!", and as soon as I read what it was about, I bought it immediately.

I really do not know specifically what to say but I feel like if you like this game, you love it. And if you don't like it, you hate it.

Everything is just so perfectly crafted here (I love that the game lets you cheat) and it feels like it was made with so much love and care. The story behind it is so lovely too

Also there's hardly any "dialogue" or "cutscenes" but I love the message of the game so much that I'd argue this is one of the best narratives of the year.

Please play this!

My first SF and Zangief is goated ngl. Literally only played as him and didn't even touch any other character unless it was for a trophy. Got (casually) quite good with him and the game feels great to play. Hitting one of those R2 Piledrivers is electric. (wasn't really sure what to rate this bc I had fun but have no interest in playing it now I've got the platinum)

World Tour mode is alright but extremely half baked.

Admittedly have not seen much of the show so I'm missing A LOT of the charm but this is just a really solid wee game! Sadly the gameplay wears down on you a bit after a while because of repeated levels/not many diff missions types but it's still fun!

Also just personally, it's a special game to me now!

I mean it's more Picross... what do you want?

Honestly they had a lot of the design down but it feels awful to play and the story is just a bit of a joke cameofest. Just find it funny that Emma Stone was in Sleeping Dogs but wasn't in this.

Nothing more to say, just play the good ones and use the TASM2 suit (definitely not worth the £30 to buy this from CEX)

Bit of a mess story wise for me and I found it so hard to actually care about anything that was going on, which is a shame after how much I loves Miles (2020) but it's obviously still really good. Some story moments still do hit, even if I don't love the whole thing. There really is just way too much going on imo.

Not even really worth talking about gameplay here because it's basically just better in every way. Everything you liked is back + better, and everything you didn't like is also back + better. The new combat abilities are just super satisfying.

Decided after playing this that Insomniac are officially the master's of game feel. I have no clue how they can include so many cool and experimental ways of using a controller to manipulate visual's and audio on your TV and make every one of these feel so incredible.

I know we're all excited about Wolverine but honestly I wouldn't be opposed if they splintered off a group to make some type of music game, a game about making art, but most importantly, I need them to make a puzzle game. I don't even mean like Portal or whatever, just a grid based puzzle game, 1h30 long and stick it up on the store for a tenner. I know a lot of the mainstream hate them in these games, but (other than that last post-game one) the puzzles in this are just so fun to play around with.

Everything Insomniac does is just so satisfying. Right now I feel quite down on this because imo these games are so bloated and Miles is quite honestly an almost perfect game, and this almost feels like a step back in so many ways. But honestly I've been pretty down on this whole year in general so even though I'm not as in love with it as everyone else, this is undoubtedly my (AAA) GOTY so far.

I'm clearly missing something here and that's fine! Probably my least fav RE game out of the ones I've played (the order is probably 7, 2R, 4, Village, 3R, 4R)

Feel like playing the OG for the first time so close to this was a mistake, I just prefer that version so much.

I do really like how this game fucks up the game order a little bit and completely flips some areas so it's not JUST a remake. I remember when the demo came out and everyone was moaning about them removing the dog, like no, they just moved it! Calm down! Suriel Vazquez's video about this is very very good.

The combat is the biggest weakness here, I just kinda felt like I was never doing any damage and that's not fun. I get it's survival horror but I want real feedback when I shoot!

They did make some good Leon/Ashley additions though which I liked, and they added a German Suplex.

Really didn't interest me and I wouldn't have played it if it wasn't for the trophy but I did like seeing some of the gameplay changes they'd made!

Really impressive for such a small (SCOTTISH!) team. Sadly it's very short and I found every puzzle super super easy. Really cool ideas though, just wish it had been built upon more.

When I first finished this I wasn't completely blown away, it's a bit dated and just like every other RE game, it's so front loaded with all the good shit so it kinda falls off at the end.

But after playing the Remake and some time apart from the game, I realised I really really like this. The combat is so good, the controls are so awkward when you start playing but as soon as it clicks, it sings. I love the feedback you get from shooting enemies, one of my biggest issues with the remake is that all the zombies feel so spongy and it made me feel so helpless but not in a good way, it's done perfectly in the original IMO..

My main negative is how the relationship between Ashley and Leon is non existent, everytime they reunite they just go "hey, I'm back" and there's no real dialogue. I guess that's just because the game is older and story didn't matter as much back then, this is not The Last of Us. (how mental is it that the time between RE4 and TLOU is basically the same between TLOU and TLOU2...)

(also there's a bunch of upskirts and weird sex jokes about Ashley which are just uncomfortable but I guess it was 2005)

Undeniably better than the first, from a personal side I just prefer the more mature story, and on a gameplay side I love how much more open it feels than the first game (also the trophy list is way better)

Feel like if I played this in 2016 I would have liked it way more? It's just kinda fine, I'm two months on from finishing it and it hasn't really stuck with me. Very very impressive for a small team though!

Also kinda feel like I didn't fully understand the story, even after 3 playthroughs
