Filled with neat mechanics, thrilling spectacle, heartful drama, and wonderful art. However, it's somehow also a drag to play? It's suffocatingly serious, its combat feels slow and clunky, and I also found it hard to commit any kind of investment in its characters. The plot roller-coasters between its three convictions: brilliant, boring, and braindead.

It's objectively better than the first one, I'll say that. Unfortunately, its improvements are few and far between, and it still suffers from a lot of the same issues. It is impossible for me to trudge through this one after having already beaten the first. A shame, too, because it's BEAUTIFUL, and obviously lovingly crafted.

Fond memories of playing this as a kid, and talking about it with my mom. Would not reccommend, though. Tends to be slow and boring because everything is padded with loooong wait times. It's also... oddly linear and void of customization, for a simulation strategy game.

Probably one of the most fun and innovative SRPGs I've ever played in terms of actual gameplay, but this is overshadowed by the unintuitive and cumbersome way that everything else is presented. I'm also gonna take off a couple stars for the weird loli shit in this game.

I played the first one at a friend's house, and liked it. This game is that, but better and more diverse. Exceedingly fast-paced PvP game that's a blast to play. Simple, straight-to-the-point combat where an individual scuffle can end in seconds. Full matches are a roller coaster of emotions. Art style is gross, but it kinda works.

This game is really something. It's the master of its own themes, and tugs at your hearts strings with an unrivalled finesse. The background sets are gorgeous, and the art style is unique and charming. The music is pure bliss, especially with the ABBA-esque spectacle of Melodies of Life. I will say that the combat is a little slow (which is mitigated by the Switch version's speed mode), but still definitely fun. Everything about this game is so lovingly crafted.

Very unique little gem of an RPG. The combat wasn't fantastic, but it was fresh and didn't overstay its welcome because the game is pretty short. The art is quite nice, too, and the soundtrack is BANGER. Its take on exploration and overworld interaction is quite immersive, and made me feel like I was travelling with a D&D party. Some cringy "otaku" tropes here and there, but that's to be expected. Plot is mostly mediocre shounen slop, but it has some vague hints of brilliance.

Super fun (which is surprising for a survival game). Despite Frankenstining a million different games/genres, it still manages to feel natural, intuitive, and unbloated. Its mechanics play into each other quite well. Smart, funny, and deliciously controversial parody. Could improve its AI and building mechanics, though.

You turn into monsters like Ben 10, and then DBZ fusion dance with your depressed bisexual millennial friends to fight the witches from Madoka Magica. This game is a blast. Creative, and with one of the best soundtracks, to boot.

It's kinda just "shitloads more content with harder gameplay" from vanilla Terraria, but it's a staple mod that every Terraria fan should try. I think other mods are way better, but I'll be damned if this mod doesn't have some great moments (especially DM Dokuro's brilliant soundtrack, holy shit)

Heart-wrenching, lovingly crafted, truly innovative, and borderline epitomic of its medium. OneShot pushes the concept of a "game" to its limits and beyond, utilizing tropes in ways that've never felt quite as refreshing.

This game is an endless dopamine trip, but sometimes I wish the characters would shut the fuck up. Big Maruki fan.

By far the best character customization of any Final Fantasy game I've played. Endless fun can be derived from playing with the job system. Its only real flaws are its goofy-ass localization and immense amounts of grinding (luckily, I played on an emulator, so I could superspeed my way through much of the bullshit).
