Order Up!! Is a charming little hidden gem game that released on multiple platforms. Its basically a cooking game with a few management elements sprinkled in. It barely has a story, you start from the bottom working in a crappy fast food chain restaurant and start climbing your way until you reach a prestigious Michelin type restaurant to cook in and to manage.

The game itself is a lot of fun, it simulates how cooking in a restaurant feels like in real life. You are cooking and doing a bunch of things, all at the same time. Theres a bit of logic to it as well, you need to figure out the order to cook everything for your dishes to not get cold. All of the mini games feel good and work well, they are very satisfying to do. Each level also feels like it lasts as much as it should, right before the cooking gets too repetitive. Theres random extra events that can hapen too, like having to sharpen your blades or cleaning dishes for the health inspector.

The game runs well, except when you are cooking too many things at the same time, the game can lag a tiny bit in thse moments, but it isnt a huge problem and its in very specific moments that ive noticed this.

Annother thing you can do is hire extra help via the newspaper. These characters can help you do part of the cooking if it gets too overwhelming for you, and they also add a bit of fun with their commentary. The game is filled with charming goofy characters, which are very funny and helps add to the experience. The physical game even brought an apron, how adorable is that?

You need to keep track of your money, expand recipes, buy spices for food and keep your restaurant clean. Theres upgrades to make cooking faster too. For the simple game that is Order Up!! I feel like it had a lot going on for it, while maintaining its simplicity. The game holds up great even for 2023. The only bad thing is that the game feels a bit short in terms of story telling. That still didnt stop me from putting 16 hours and 30 minutes into it as the gameplay is very fun and addicting. I truly recommend this game to everyone. Its quite a shame we didnt get a Switch port or a new entry that expands on the original. Well, never say never! Maybe one day we will see it happen.
