One of the best JRPGs of the last 10 years.
Combat is good, rewarding and complex, but with good accessories and skills, the game may feel a bit too easy on normal difficulty. I've seen some people complaining about enemies having too much HP. If you think so, you're probably doing something wrong, so make sure that you make advantage of elemental weaknesses, combos, party AI customization and accessories' perks.
Story and characters are kinda cliché, but they're really good written. The last third of the game has a big decline in pacing and narrative cohesion. That results in a final act that is over the top for the sake of it, with little explanation of why some events are even possible. Doesn't ruin the overall narrative experience and enjoyment tho. All characters have a ton of screentime and everyone has his development arc, especially in side quests.
Fun endgame and postgame content, with lots of things to do and lots of optional bosses and challenges. Again, if you are the type of player that likes to optimize his party between skills and equipment, you probably won't have any problem beating any of the optional "hard" bosses.
Technically an incredible achievement for the team at Bandai and a huge step forward for the Tales of series. Graphics and Art direction are phenomenal for the majority of the game and I didn't experience a single bug/glitch or optimization problem.
I loved this game, and even after beating the main story, I wanted to play more, finishing all of the postgame content and achieving 100% completion. Not many titles manage to engage me so much.
