Tekken 8 is similar to a flying car in that it has the features of something old, with modern convenience and experiential optimizations as something new. I find that Tekken 8 does a killer job at teaching new players the ropes through training mode, with easy-to-understand systems and consistently smooth net code so players of any skill level can jump in and find matches. Tekken 8 is my first Tekken, but it's a game I will be playing for a very long time.

What a masterpiece.

For a bit of context, I have known the story of Persona 3 for many years now. I knew how it started and ended, but never anything about the middle or specifics of events. After finishing Persona 3 Reload, I can say without a doubt that this is a stellar example of the highs that the Persona series can bring. With its revitalized gameplay, gripping story, and a knockout ending that had me ugly crying at 3 in the morning, Persona 3 Reload is something special that stands aside the masterpiece Persona 5 Royal.

If you are interested in Persona, please play this game. It's stellar.

What a game. Marvel's Spider Man 2 is what a superhero action game should be. After waiting 5 years for the next big Spider-Man game, I was confident that this game would be a showcase of innovation compared to the previous entries in the series. I was correct, as what Insomniac has done here is special. I think an example of the power of this sequel has to be the segments where you don't play as Spider-Man. The MJ segments return, which was a sore spot in 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man. In short, MJ uses a taser to take down the enemies that she sneaks around, which honestly adds a lot to the stealth segments.

MJ segments are only a small part of the overall experience. Everything about the gameplay of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been improved from the ability system to the swinging mechanics and the skill trees. Even exploring the city (which has doubled in size, adding two new boroughs) has been iterated on. Instead of having more trinkets to collect, there are entire side stories just waiting to be told. There's a side quest where you play in a flashback, and the developers added a spray painting mechanic that from what I've seen so far, only appears in this five-minute flashback side quest. So much attention to detail has been put into every little nook and cranny of this game, and I cannot express enough how much I love this masterfully crafted world. Thank you Insomniac for this.

I've seen others complain online about how short the main story is. I see this as a benefit of the game, however, as there's no filler, nothing weighing the game's story down. Only the best of the best of writing, art direction, and technical visual fidelity.

I cannot stress enough how awesome this game is. If you haven't played any of Marvel's Spider-Man games, please start ASAP, you won't regret it.

What an amazing game. The gameplay exceeded my expectations and the story surprised me too. I love the music, characters, and message. Please give this game a shot, as it’s genuinely a game of the year contender in my book.

Street Fighter 6 is a landmark game for the fighting game genre. It looks extremely pretty, plays very well, and accomplishes something that is extremely rare for the genre: feeling good after losing. Even when I lost a match, it never felt unfair. I always knew that I had lost fair and square. The singleplayer campaign is fun while also feeling like a natural extension of what a street fighter singleplayer should be. The online netcode is also smooth and supports per-character ranking systems to boot! If you have any sort of interest in fighting games, I would pick up Street Fighter 6; you won't regret it.

As pretty as the game is visually, I couldn't really get into the combat and story. I didn't want to listen to what the characters had to say, and that sucks, because the game LOOKS amazing. The combat also was pretty lame to be perfectly honest with you. I wish in the early game, the enviornments led to more exciting encounters.

Conceptually, MultiVersus had everything. The same subgenre as the biggest fighting game ever made, backed by a massive company, recognizable characters, FREE TO PLAY. There is so much happening at once, and it's all good. However, the gameplay of MultiVersus is centered around 2v2, which isn't bad in concept, but really falters the game in execution. Some characters are only designed for 2v2, and the moment you want to play alone, with no cooridnation from a teamate, OR you play with a random online, you are immediately at a disadvantage. Eventually, the flow of content slowed, and the game died. However, they are relaunching the game in 2024, and it could make a comeback. For now however, MultiVersus really didn't work.

What an incredible experience. Resident evil 4 is all substance and no fat. There isn’t a single real issue I could find with the game. Everything is executed perfectly.

6/13 EDIT:

I really can't stop thinking about this game, and it really emphasizes the quality of the gam to me. As said before, Resident Evil 4 keeps upping the ante every single time. When I thought the game would stop getting cooler, Leon said another beautfully written one liner. Visually stunning, a well executed flow of resources, while also feeling that you are limited by the world around you and your skill. I love this game.

Genuinely the second best game I have ever played. As of writing, I am taken aback by how amazingly crafted this game is. If you have played breath of the wild, and you aren’t playing this, you are genuinely doing yourself a disservice. Please, play this game.

Even though I don't remember the boss fights at all, Donkey Kong Country presents itself in such a charming way. The music really sells it for me. I really like this game, please give it a try if you haven't, because its a blast.

I did NOT grow up with this game, but I can acknowledge that it is a very enjoyable experience overall. The gameplay is still fun, even after 20+ years. I wish I could get some friends over and play melee like people used to back in the early 2000s.

This game has a pretty cool DLC from what I've heard, but this game is obsolete now that the 3rd game is out.

I don't remember much about this game's campaign, but I liked the multiplayer. It's a fun and colorful game, thats obsolete now that the 3rd game is out.

This game rules. Wii Sports Resort is Wii Sports cranked up to a new level. I miss this game so much, please give it a try if you haven't.

One of the best collections of games ever put together. If you have any interest in Shovel Knight, buy this.
