Despite not actually being based on Lovecraft's work and merely being inspired by it this is still the quintessential Lovecraftian cosmic horror game. Nothing can top Bloodborne's atmosphere.
The world, architecture and art, music, characters and lore, it's all some of the most detailed and interesting I've seen in any game. Also if you do a real deep dive into the world, it's a very philosophical game too.
However none of this would matter if the gameplay wasn't good and to me it's some of the most challenging (Yet fair) and fun gameplay at the same time, with tons of great weapons and character builds that have their own unique play-styles to give the game nearly infinite replay value. The bosses are all incredibly well designed, there's not a single level or area I dislike. Seriously everything about this game is perfect.

A fun, but repetitive and simplistic arena fighting game with an enjoyable 'What if?' styled fan-service story, great stage design, vast roster of characters and good music. Naturally if you're a Jojo fan you'll enjoy it more, but even then it most likely isn't going to land on an 'all time fave games' list for most people.

Top notch characters (And one of the best antagonists in the series) and great chemistry between the main group, some cool story ideas and a masterfully composed OST as well.
Unfortunately all that's ruined by the story being rushed and unfinished, locking important details and character development behind DLC (Also cancelling the second season pass so the story will forever be incomplete) plus a boring empty world with generic MMO side quests and a very repetitive combat system.
It's such a shame too because with more time and care the game could've truly been a masterpiece.

A bit generic, but If you don't mind anime tropes, you'll like this game. Likable characters, solid story with some pretty dark moments you wouldn't expect, lots of light-hearted comedic relief, fun turn-based combat system, good music etc. This game doesn't do anything amazing that'll blow you away, but everything it does it at least does good.
It's a musou game with Fate characters. It's extremely enjoyable and mindless fun. Don't expect F/SN tier writing because the writing could certainly be a lot better in this game, but that isn't going to stop me from having fun decimating hoards of enemies in over-the-top and stylish ways with some of my favorite Fate characters

One of my top 5 favorite games ever.
Velvet is an absolutely incredible protagonist, one of the best ever as far as I am concerned and an amazing embodiment of human emotion with so much depth and development.
The story is dark, emotional, tragic and has many unpredictable plot-twists, I can count the amount of video game stories that left as big an impact on me as this one.
I love almost every single main character, they have so much compelling depth, backstory and development. The game also has one of the best written and relatable antagonists ever.
All the side quests are great and add to character's stories or build the world. The OST by Motoi Sakuraba is breathtaking and the combat system is fun, fast and fluid.
I can't say much bad about this game at all and few J-RPGs will be in the same league as it.

Nioh (and subsequently it's sequel) is the only 3D Souls-like that can stand toe-to-toe with FromSoft's work, nothing else even comes close.
Despite being an obvious Souls-like and taking clear influence and inspiration from FromSoft, Nioh in itself is a very unique game and far from a simple clone of the Souls formula.
Nioh has it all from the fast paced, fluid and stylish Ninja Gaiden combo based/Onimusha stance changing combat.
The sheer amount of build variety you'd expect from a Souls-like, with playstyles based around strength, dexterity, magic and more.
Honestly in my opinion Nioh doesn't get enough credit for how it was the first Souls-like to tell a more concrete story beyond just lore, bonus points because it had a very interesting and unique plot centered around William Adams, a historical Irish sailor and the first ever western samurai and Edward Kelley an English renaissance occultist and alchemist and how they get dragged into the final battles of the Sengoku period during Ieyasu Tokugawa's efforts to unify Japan, all while Japanese demons from myths and legends, Yokai are emerging from the chaos of the wars. It's like Koei Tecmo's Samurai Warriors, but in a dark supernatural fantasy setting.
Also who could forget about the killer OST composed by Yugo Kanno (primarily known for composing all the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime OSTs) with some beautiful traditional Japanese folk instrumentation.
Really my only minor complaints being the loot system, bland side missions and mediocre level design, but when everything else is so great it these are easily overlooked.

A modern Power Rangers beat em up could've been cool if even the slightest amount of effort was put into it, but this game doesn't have that. The controls are horrible, there's no variety to the enemies and they are damage sponges. The combat would be fun if not for horrible hitboxes, but Megazord battles are boring and there's just no original ideas in the game. Oh and the worst thing of all is there's no online co-op. The game feels more like a student project than something that would be published by such a huge company like Bandai Namco. Avoid this game because there's just nothing of value aside from some nostalgic value and a good cartoon art style.
