I don't know how they did it but Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a near flawless masterpiece of a 2D platformer. It takes the foundation left by the New Super Mario Bros. Series and elevates to way past 11. This game is pure imagination and creativity incarnate, nearly every single level surprised me with its great level design, featuring tons of secrets to find that made me feel like a smart little boy when I found them. The soundtrack is fantastic with funky tunes and wacky music that's gonna stay with you after the credits roll. The art direction is absolutely phenomenonal and sure it does use standard level theme tropes but I don't care, it takes those tropes and makes them feel so brand new.

Sure the bosses are... not good to be honest, except for the final boss which was an absolute blast but I won't spoil it for you. But everything else, is near flawless. If you have a Nintendo Switch then this is a must buy title.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 feels like Marvel's Spider-Man 2018 but way more faster, more polished and more batshit insane. The traversal is so much better like... OH MY GODDDD! it might actually beat Spider-Man 2 (2004) from the loop de loops and gliding alone they are a massive game changer. And the city too feels so much more alive, so many cars, boats, civilians, buildings. You really feel like this is a busy and lively city and with the ps5's ssd you'll be swinging and gliding at speeds that would make the ps4 explode.

The combat is mostly great, you have to pay more attention to the enemies and there's no op moves you can spam to breeze through combat. However I'm a bit mixed on the cooldown for abilities.. i don't know, i kinda wished it was instead a combo system rather than a timer to use the abilities again. The side content is way faster to do and is less obtrusive than the first game and at some points you may see another Spider-Man already at a crime scene, and its such a treat.

Also... MAKE SURE TO DO THE FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD APP SIDE MISSIONS!! THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENONAL!!!

The story is mostly great, sure it sometimes feels like someone struggling to juggle 50 balls at once from how much shit is going on and it feels like Miles got the short end of the stick in this game, but Kraven is real intimidating and i wanted to beat the fuck out of him. The black suit stuff is fucking incredible and terrifying at some points. Yuri Lowenthal KILLED IT!!!! Without getting into spoilers there were a lot of story moments that made me jump out of my seat and shout "OH MY GOD!" A thousand times. But there was also a fair amount of story stuff that made me go "......mmmm... Idkk.... eh....."

If you are a fan of Spider-Man's long video game history like I am you are absolutely gonna fall in love with this game and even if you aren't familiar with Spider-Man this game still offers so much and will leave you wanting more.

Yeah.... the game is pretty good!

Controls and physics are near flawless
Good level design for the most part
Looks nice except for the weird lack of anti aliasing making the edges of models look not smooth at all (I did play on a ps5 and I didn't see any graphical options at all)

The soundtrack is a mixed bag. I had to take off my headphones at one point because the music was grading. If I turn off the music in a sonic game you've fucked up big time. STOP DOING THE FAKE SEGA GENESIS SHIT! THE SYNTHS SUCK! STOP!!!! the music on paper is good it's just that the instruments are TERRIBLE!!!! The sound effects felt very cheap too and clashed with each other. It's like they took random sound effects from each sonic game and put them all together it's so weird.

the bosses are all pretty much "Ok wait through an attack pattern and THEN you can attack for a split second!" I despise that kind of boss design and Sonic Superstars is full of it. Very disappointing. The powers felt very..... meh??? Ehhhhh??? I did like the fire one and slowing down time is always handy. The special stages are pretty fun
and fairly easy except for the 5th one which required multiple attempts.

It's a pretty good game but it's far from being worth full price. If it was 40 or 50 bucks I would recommend it. Wait for a price drop unless you're a sonic fan then you'll like this.
