Decided to play through the original this morning (after many years since trying it out first on original Flash) because I was bored and it's fine I guess. Having played Super Meat Boy before this, the most notable difference is that they really, really improved the controls in SMB. In the original Meat Boy, you have to really watch your momentum and keep tapping against your direction of float because otherwise, it's super easy to fall off platforms or lean too far into the somewhat imprecise hitboxes of lava/salt/buzzsaws/other hazards. It's pretty bread & butter level based platforming otherwise and has held up well enough for its time, and Danny Baranowsky's tracks are a nice touch. It's not my favorite platforming series (and it doesn't help that keyboard controls feel a bit more imprecise for me over using a controller) but it's a nice relic of its time if you want to go back to the original source material for a spin; otherwise, you should just play Super Meat Boy instead.

It's okay Bubbles I disagree with your disagreement : )
I keep forgetting Meat Boy was originally an online browser game, since I'm much more accustomed to the Super game. Seems like I wasn't really missing out on much, though!
