A ranked list of the Game Boy games, from the OG to the Advance, that I've played enough to rank. Ports and re-releases are handled on a case-by-case basis. Once enough of these have been played, I will make additional lists for Game Boy + Game Boy Color only and Game Boy Advance only.

Since I see some tactical RPGs ranking pretty high, consider playing the GBA remake of Shining Force? It's pretty good!
Yup, I have! I got Shining Soul 1 and 2 on my GBA Backlog, I actually didn't realize they're supposed to be fairly short judging from How Long to Beat times as well. How do you feel they stack up to the original Shining Force games?
Hmm I haven't tried Shining Soul but have played Resurrection of the Dark Dragon a couple of times. I like the new script but am not as much a fan of the sound and the lighter palette - gameplay is a bit more refined at the expense of losing a bit of magic. Enjoyed it though!
I actually forgot Resurrection of the Dark Dragon was the remake at first, lol. Do have it in the backlog too FYI. Interesting to hear!
