holy fuck this gave me a rush like no other. the gunplay is the most fluid i have ever played in a fps like this. i cant wait to see what the final two layers will be like in the future

Revolutionary for its time, but playing it 12 years later…it just preaching to the choir. And playing it now, the gunplay is actually horrible.

Not to diminish its importance to gaming and anti-war media in general though. It’s eye opening when compared to current events (ie, what’s happening to the Palestinians), and I’d argue its importance can help people understand what goes on in war conflicts. I hope it can be relisted soon, the accessibility of this game is needed now more than ever.

Disappointed that it wasn’t longer! Ties a nice little bow for Kratos”s story for now, and actually got me interested in rougelikes. Also, it’s free - who can say no to that.

Unexpectedly exceeded my expectations. Solid story, acting and writing feels like a side story of the old silent hill from the PS2 era. Chases are atrocious but with a guide by your side it’s livable and fast to get through. I’m quite happy I enjoyed this one so much; I much rather have a middling Silent Hill game that keeps interest on the series again than a game that outright destroys the franchise again (Praying Silent Hill 2 remake doesn’t cause this)

i thought i would be the one fixing her but she fixed me instead

this is the most 2010 game i have ever played

a great story held back with mediocre gameplay. graphics got a little funky by the end of the game but overall was graphically beautiful. i might try to play the og again when i get the chance!

a really, really well done exploration on growing into a young adult and reconciling with the mistakes you made as a teenager. it follows the recent trend of media that focuses on generational trauma within non white families (which dont get me wrong, I relate heavily with as a trans gay brown man myself), but in this particular context I wish the game continued to focus more on Jala's own faults hurting all her love ones than simply ending it on "It was her grandmother ruining her mom and her all along!!" (or that the game kinda skipped over her last relationship was a vastly older woman taking advantage of her when she was in her early 20s and isolating her from her friends and family but I digress).

Overall, a really good game! The gameplay does get stale but obviously the main intrigue is the writing, especially the characters. Tyler might be the best character ever i think

improvement over the first game in the series for sure. all the mechanics are streamlined and the writing and voice acting is unbelievably triple a levels. while the story kinda loses me near the ending, the brotherhood certainly knows how to make an emotional journey that drives the player to finishing the game. cant wait to see what else they would do in this series!

a fun linear sci-fi experience with a norse twist! i really cant say anything about it, it was a good game and I'm glad I gave it a few hours of my time to play

2017

so far, one of the only Supergiant games that actually connected with me (Hades is up next in my backlog so this may change) but good lord the mechanics causes so much rage I dont see myself picking it up again in the near future

what do you do if a society deems your freedom to be entertainment? as trevor says, "Leave me the fuck alone!"

short and sweet! a really well done narrative and I'm glad the game ended the way it did

i chop all the goblins into lil bits

puzzles made me feel dumb but i smiled anyway :]
