It's more Cuphead, which is something we definitely needed more of in this world. As is the case with vanilla, the game continues to be gorgeous, but you already knew that. However, the new content managed to set the bar even higher. Something I really noticed playing through the new content is just how gorgeous the backgrounds are. There's also much more animation on display. Everything feels busier (in a good way) and full of life. I actually found myself having trouble playing the game because I was distracted by looking at the animation work. Also, big A+ for the use of models and miniatures. The new content is also well designed, providing some of the best content in Cuphead, as a whole. The bosses have a lot more going on yet feel more coordinated and well put together. There is some rng but it never feels like bullshit. I would recommend playing the dlc as Ms. Chalice, since it seems like the said boss fights were built with her unique moveset in mind. This was a perfect addition to Cuphead. It was short, sweet, and is a nice bookend on this truly special game.
