Picture this: It was a gloomy Saturday morning. I foud out that it was Garage Sale day. Not expecting anything good, I brung my friends out to a little excursion around the neighborhood to look around. For the first 30 minutes, we found nothing good. Then, we decided to go down the hill and look further. Lo and behold, we found a house with a large table and many old Wii games scattered throughout. There was a person sitting on a chair next to the table. He was older, and probably had grown out these games or had a loved one who had. Intrigued, I asked him which ones he liked the most. He got up and picked up this disc. He looked at it for a few seconds, like saying goodbye to an old friend, and showed me it. I had heard of it, of course, and it looked mildly cool, but I ultimately declined because I had no access to a controller able to play the game. Then, he walked into his garage and picked up two, sticker-laden plastic guitars. I bought it from him for $20. A steal, right? I didn’t think so at the time. So, I got home, dusted off
the old Wii, and plopped the disc in. Immediately, I was met with a deafening guitar riff that nearly knocked me off my feet. When I pressed play, I sat through two minutes of company intros (not knowing you could skip them at the time) and a sick early-2000’s edgy animation, and then finally played the game. Beat it six days later. Best gaming experience I’ve ever had with friends.
