Been training Ryo on Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, so changing back to Alpha made it actually feel easier. Can't remember seriously having played Alpha before though, that was kinda after my time.

So yeah, finished another time. Some different decisions, some new stuff, but basically very linear.

I was a bit fed up by listening music after spending almost a day with my latest Mostrich Mixtape on Spotify, so before I waste my listening while playing time on The Innsmouth Case or EarthBound Beginnings, where I can do that, why not start another adventure where I need game sound? I wouldn't, usually, but I was also too tired for coordinating action at the time. The Little Acre started off a bit unlike I expected and about two hours in, wouldn't be much of entertainment if it wasn't for that brat Lilly with her British accent and infantile perspective. Puzzles are a bit on the easy end, so there'll better be a good plot, which is hardly the case at this point. And half an hour later credits roll. Meh.

It come down to what I quickly thought: It's not anything like a game, it's of course even called a visual novel, but with so few options to interact, putting it on a DVD would work better. As non-japanese speaker, you're occupied with reading, but I believe the very pragmatic visual ellipsis would become boring if actually listened to the dialogue. So it should either be animated better or offer more interaction. If you can live with it being none of that it's actually developing it's stereotype characters to a heartwarming story of getting rid of your inner demons while staying true to your quirky attributes, becoming a self-confident part of a working social structure to make life better than being isolated.

Though it took me more than double the time of the first one to complete, it didn't really feel like more gameplay, blown up with cutscenes and voice acting. That's fine, especially as Creepy Tale 2 kind of explains the world a bit more, but other than that, the puzzles are mostly trial and error, frustration to a learning curve. Switch version omits achievements, I couldn't care less though. Don't know if it's really worth its asking price, but it's a decent addition to the first one.

Done it. Wasn't too surprised, expected an ending in that fashion. The many puzzles on the way we're a blast though a lot of people will hate.
