A fun collection of characters, good music, and a cute art style.
The limited number of abilities prevents the usual RPG thing of being overwhelmed by options.
Everything in the game takes about 30% longer than it should, but overall a pleasant time.

I made a video looking at Vivian, the games transgender character, which you can find here.

A truly beautiful visual and auditory experience, bursting with colour, character and energy, few other games capture.
While its platforming and Simon says music sequences are pretty basic, it doesn't break the groovy flow the game has.
A perfect example of style over substance, but it has so much style you can't help but be taken in by it all.

10 years on from its release, and it's impossible to not see Skyrim as a buggy mess, full of repetitive quests and bad AI.
However, its world is so rich and deep in history and culture, I adore it nonetheless.
I can never really go back to it, but exploring the world for the first time is amongst my favourite video game memories

I can't say this game looks particularly good, runs flawlessly, or that it isn't Saints Row 3 with a few new things to do.
But I find Saints Row 4 is both fun, and funny even after 8 years. The writing is great, full of nerdy references and jokes.
For a series that has progressively gotten sillier as it went on, this feels like the natural climax of that. A joyous romp

It's nice seeing the World of Darkness being used more, Coteries of New York doesn't have much else to it besides that.
It captures the atmosphere and feel of the universe, with good art and music, and some interesting characters.
While it's fun to be amongst vampires again, it's story doesn't match up to other games in the series, or in the genre.

For each step forward from the original it takes a step back, with better gameplay, but a drawn out boring plot.
The orcs have more personality to them, and are very much the stars of the show, the Talion getting little development.
An average open world game, turned into a good game by a single great mechanic, even if it drags itself out too long

Faithful to the Borderlands style, with an adventure game style makes a great alternate look at the game's universe.
Has a good narrative structure, fun characters, but it's certainly a Telltale game, so choices don't really matter.
One of the strongest Telltale games out there, with Handsome Jack stealling absolutely every scene with how great he is.

Playing this game in Single Player as I did, Borderlands 2 is not a great experience, with lots of repetition in parts.
It's RPG components are lacking, shooting average, enemies have too much health, and quests are tedious.
Friends will probably make up for its shortcomings, and Handsome Jack steals the whole show with how good he is.

10 years on from its release, and Portal 2 still feels fresh, funny, beautiful and incredible as it did when it first came out.
It's the fully realised version of that bonus game on the Orange Box, everything turned up to 11 and hitting every beat.
I wholeheartedly believe Portal 2 to be the single Best Game ever made, and an essential part of any gamer's library

It fixes the core issue I have with the first game, which was the fact that as a platformer, Psychonauts 1 isn't very good.
Psychonauts 2 plays more like Ratchet and Clank, but keeps all the excellent charm, characters, humour, and music.
A complete modern package that stands as one of the best games of the year so far, that lives up to 16 years of hype

The best way to describe this game is that you explore a Morowing-esqe world, with no combat, and doing basic quests.
The game looks beautiful, and the paintings can look great. There are a few glitches, and some models look off.
Eastshade captures the feeling of exploring an interesting world for the first time and doesn't outstay its welcome.

Probably the only band-specific Rockband/Guitar Hero rhythm game that should exist considering it's The Beatles.
Missing a fair few noteworthy songs, and Expert mode adds notes and cord that don't really exist in the songs.
Great presentation, background videos are visually colourful and fun. It's Rockband with the Greatest Band in the world.

Why would you make a game where you're dependant on the AI to win, and have terrible AI, driving off cliffs etc.
On Hard and Expert modes, it's almost impossible to win because your teammates are useless and you can't carry them.
The game feels cheaply made, with pretty poor presentation, basic models, and a fair few bugs and glitches
With weak power-ups and slow racing, there are far better options for kart-racers, including this games predecessor

Burnout 3 holds up extremely well compared to most racing games, or just games in general, from the PS2 era,
Perfect arcade fun, handling that feels great and a killer soundtrack. Smashing into things has never felt so great.
The peak of the series, and one of the best racing games ever made, a cathartic few hours of chaos and carnage.

2019

If all that matters to you is the process of racing, GRID does it fine. However, the game is lacking in every other area.
Not many cars, no sense of progression, limited number of tracks. Just a live service full of busywork.
GRID is video game junk food, enjoyable while played, but completely forgettable, and you could have something better.
