Fans of Souls-like games, especially Nioh, should play Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Complete Edition. It's a lot of fun with an interesting setting and a good combat rhythm. While the difficulty of the base game could have been done better, the DLC more than makes up for it. Having spent about 40 hours with the base game and then just under 15 hours with the DLC packs, this package offers a lot of value with the DLC being a highlight for its challenge. In addition to the main story content, there is a lot to do beyond that with loads of replay value. Despite some limitations, the DLC was one of the best parts of the experience. I highly recommend this game to anyone craving a slightly different experience from what we see in the genre when it comes to combat.

Overall, I think anyone familiar with Uchikoshi’s works and adventure games will likely find something to enjoy on it. The plot has many strong beats, the mystery is there constantly until the end and the trademark twists are there to keep the player on the edge. The characters are very entertaining and the game balances the dark and serious moments with its humor and lighthearted tone rather well, though not without faults.

It isn’t drastically different from the first game, which was already a very good title, but NirvanA Initiative refines a lot of its prequel’s rougher edges and I think it’s an improvement in almost every department. Few games also succeed in incorporating so many different elements, like sci-fi and paranormal, as well as this. It took me around 30 hours to complete, and I was hooked the entire time. I highly recommend it.

While I feel most of us wanted a classic story expansion for Ragnarök, I can’t stress enough how much Valhalla caught me by surprise and it is something that delivers beyond any expectations, especially for its lack of price tag. It took me about 8 hours to complete, but I’m certain some people will get even more value from it. Highly recommended for everyone who owns the base game, whether you’re a fan of rogue-lite or not.
