Fucking hell I only played this for 4 hours and it had already given me a massive headache.

I know this game is infamous but I always thought that hey, maybe people are slightly overreacting... nah this game is ass.

The story is incredibly short, you can knock it out in 4 hours, it's also horrible and a complete mess. You play it from both franchises sides. So you can play the MK side first and then the DC side or vice versa. They're supposed to happen simultaneously but I could not piece them together at all half the time. Also the entire thing is just people constantly either misunderstanding each other or being taken over by the "Rage Force" or whatever, for 3 and a half hours until the very end where only two of the characters actually team up against the real big bad.

The gameplay is.... well I can see why they moved away from 3D arena fighters and back to 2D cause it's really not great.

Every character feels the exact same with slight variations in animations, that's about it. So many animations are just universally used and it's so weird.

Also, there are some serious balancing issues here, some characters are useless whereas others are OP af cough The Flash cough

Oh and not to mention the constantly fluctuating AI, they either just sit there and take everything or they become the most skilled player on the planet, juggling you for 30 seconds taking down almost all of your health, or they just stand back and spam the same move 5 times over. It became a fucking nightmare to play through.

The gamemodes are lacking severely.
In single-player all you have is Arcade, Story, Challenge and practise. No option for just 1 match fights against the AI or anything like that.

then for Multi-Player you just have... fight.

and then online

and that's it.

There's no extras, no collectables, no unlockables. well supposedly except two characters but either my game is broken or the game just lies to your face because when you beat the story modes you unlock Shao Khan and Darkseid... and yet if you check the character roster they are nowhere to be fucking found, it's so weird.

The voice acting is horrible and mostly terribly miscast, the character designs are okay, except for literally all three of the women characters who have the skimpiest outfits known to man for some reason, oh and also massive jugs because why not.

The few things I did like about the game?

The stage transitions are pretty neato. I liked most of the DC character designs, while yeah they are very basic they do give off a cool comic book feel. I like some of the Heroic Brutalities, I know it sucks we couldn't get proper fatalities in the game but the substitution ain't the worst thing in the world. and the gameplay, when the AI isn't suddenly on steroids, can be fairly entertaining.

however, again, after only playing this for four hours and beating the story, I am already fucking sick of it. I don't wanna see this again please and thank you.

Look, I know this game has a dark history as to why it's so rushed and bad, but that doesn't make it any less rushed or bad.

If you're interested in learning why this game... is.

I recommend this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrqXNdRUwXw

The guy covers the history behind the disaster very well :))

This review contains spoilers

well, 3.5 feels too low, but 4 star feel too high.

Sooo, just see this as 3.75 stars

I did like this game, but damn it's so overrated lmao.

I already know I've pissed off so many people saying that but imo it's true.

This game is carried heavily by it's story. which isn't saying much when the story is kinda meh at times.

Most of this game is just, go to new place, meet this new person/people, shoot some people/infected, go to new place rinse and repeat. It gets a bit monotonous at times.

Thankfully the actual storybeats during these sections are usually enough to keep me drawn in, even if it is something I've seen done dozens of times before.

Joel and Ellie are great characters, I do like them both and their dynamic. but Joel is a piece of shit lol. Look, I get we all love some found family dynamics, but destroying humanity's chance to get a cure just because you want your surrogate daughter back? and then lying directly to her face about it? kindaaaaa not great bro.

Anyway yeah, story carries the game, the combat did grow on me, but just like the Uncharted games it wasn't exactly fun. Just a lot of stay behind cover, shoot bad guy, stay behind cover, shoot bad guy. However, at least in this game there's the crafting system and the sparsity of ammo which does keep things more interesting which I liked. But still not great.

Clickers can suck my dick.

The game looks nice visually. There's some nice humours moments. The soundtrack is pretty decent.

I main problem with this game for me, i think is just time.

When this came out it quickly became a staple in gaming because it was the first game to do so many things. However, it's been nearly 10 years since this game has come out and so many games have taken from this game and just done it a lot better. Which again, is not the game's fault, nothing can stay special forever. And I think the fact that I've played a lot of games that play similar to this but just improved in every way, makes this game feel... not exactly dated but, just run of the mill I guess.

I never saw or felt anything special in this game like I'm sure many did years ago.

It was just an entertaining adventure with a story I've seen dozens of times and with gameplay I've played dozens of times.

Told my friend this and he told me to fuck off lmao.

Anywaysss, hype for TLOU2, totally heard nothing but great things. Can't wait.

There's definitely Mario and there is for sure sports.

This is a fun distraction to play for like 10-15 mins before doing something else.

Two of the sports are directly ripped from other 3DS games so that's neat.

Baseball is decent, Football is decent, Horse Riding is fine I guess.

I dunno nothing here is really good, but I wouldn't say any of it is straight up bad.

This game kind of just exists, and I'm fine with that.

THAT'S RIGHT BITCH! MASTERED! I 100% BEAT THIS GAME! PLATINUM AND EVERYTHING BABYYY!

For real though this game isn't actually too bad all things considered... or that could be the Stockholm syndrome setting in... who knows?

The gameplay isn't to bad, I actually had some fun with it.

Same goes for the track design, you can tell a surprising amount of love went into this game.

Obviously though with it's only 9 playable characters and pretty basic track design and VERY unbalanced items. It's very clear this game was rushed.

Item effects last way to fucking long.

I was surprised by how many side modes there were though.

also they really like that move it move it song huh?

King Julien mains rise up.

Overall.. It's a fun game to play with friends... or 3 days straight on your own platinuming it. But I probably won't be playing it again for a long time.

Goddamn... I enjoyed this game so much more than I thought I was going too.

Don't get me wrong it still has quite a few problems but, this is honestly the first game I've played all year where I was actually sad it was over. I could've played another 20-30 hours of this easily... I really wanna go back and replay it as a different gender and life path.

Let's start with the positives of which they are ALOT.

This game is beautiful. Night City is amazingly designed, nearly every corner you turn is so full of life between the stunningly designed districts to the variety of people you can encounter. There definitely are some bland areas but for the most part I absolutely loved just traversing the city and all along the outskirts in the badlands and shit. The entire map feels lived in and as if it would be somewhere that would actually exist and is just an absolute joy to play in.

The characters, man I fell in love with everyone here. The characters are all so amazingly written with very few exceptions. I adored gameplay sections that were basically nothing but talking because it's executed so well, with you being able to steer the conversation in different directions with different prompts. You just get so sucked into the lives of everyone here, everything being in first person definitely helps with that because this is the first game in awhile were I have genuinely felt like it was me in the main characters shoes. I constantly found myself talking to the characters in the game myself as my characters talked to them. Also everyone has their own personality that shines beautifully and you seriously come to care for a lot of them, especially your character's love interests. I was a female character so my two choices were Judy and River and I think I may of genuinely fallen in love with them both a little bit. They're so full of life and charm and character that you can't help but like them. My only problem with them was that I wish there were even more characters I could get to know better and become in a relationship with, and that when you get into a relationship you can actually do stuff. Because all you can really do is repeat the same couple of conversations with kinda suck. But mannnn when you get to do missions with them? those are the best. Judy and Rivers "relationship" missions were some of my favourite in the game. You get to see both of the characters in their natural habitat, just being themselves and it's so wholesomeeee.

Of course if we're talking characters we have to address the breathtaking elephant in the room, Johnny Silverhand, AKA Keanu Reeves. To be honest I didn't really like him at first, all he does for the first few hours is stand around and complain. However, he grew on me so much. As the game goes on he starts opening up and becoming nicer to you and you get to explore his past and help him reconcile with everyone he wronged and oh my god him and rouge are so adorable. I did my best to make sure me and Johnny stayed best friends throughout the entire game, I love him.

Speaking of missions. fuck me, the missions in this game are so goddamn funnnnn. Sure you get a few that are just, go here, shoot people and get thing. But most of them really engulf you into the world and let you do some crazy shit. So many missions help build out the world heavily and keep you even more invested. One of, if not my favourite missions in the game is one where you have to help a detective track down his missing nephew, and during it you come across this really fucked up kidnapper and you have to trace through his memories to find out where he keeps his victims and it gets real dark and fucked up real quick and I loved it so much.

The story itself? well you've got the main story and then all of the side character stories. I do honestly think I enjoyed the side characters stories more than the main story. But man it's got some real highlights, I still really enjoyed it. Again though, I just really wish it was longer!

Alright gameplay wise? It's really fun. The gunplay is simple and yet smart with the incorporation of RPG elements, and if that doesn't suit you then you can use a range of different hacking attacks or melee weapons. You can even upgrade your body to have weapons embedded in it which is fucking awesome. I never got bored of the gameplay in this game.
The vehicles kinda handle like ass though, but they are all designed well and look really cool so it's worth it.

Now we gotta get into some negatives.

The customisation, what exactly happened here? You can customise V extensively, some of the most controllable characters customisation I've seen in my life, but you do spend basically the whole game in first person, which does make it seem a bit null and void but it didn't bother me too much because it just made me feel more in the actual shoes of my character.

Vehicle customisation however, is non-existent... why? You actually see the vehicles constantly and yet you have no say over how they look, it's weird.

Obviously the other elephant in the room is the glitches, and yes this game is still a buggy mess and I did have a couple of crashes through my playthrough... but none of it ever actually bothered me. In fact it just made the game more fun. There was a moment where I got into a car crash and my game crashed at the same time. It was very funny. Also there were never any glitches that stopped me from progressing so that's good.

Also, there are a decent amount of moments as mentioned where your choices can dictate how a situation goes and especially in the later game a few of those choices do have some big consequences. But for the rest of the game a lot of your choices don't really seem to matter all too much. it's a little thing that doesn't damper anything but just something that's a bit noticeable.

Overall, I'm willing to say I love this game. My only issues stem from the fact that despite how much it feels like you can do, between races and underground boxing rings and having sex with people (btw every sex scene in this game is so awkward lol) all of it is so little. There is so much of so little. You can do all of these amazing things and participate in all of these cool activities and amazing stories, but they all feel so short and not all there. I'm glad there's a quantity over quality situation here but between that and various glaring omissions such as vehicle customisation and repeatable activities, as in things you can do more than once and not just for a mission (I:e races) it's very clear this game needed quite a bit more time before it came out.

However, this game is genuinely a great time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am actually looking forward to replaying it with a different character and different lifepath.

Great game.

Edit: I have since platinumed the game and uh, yeah I still love it. Need more.

I mean, it's just Mario Maker 2... but worse lol.

The online functionality is basically non-existent and there are a lot of features missing.

However, I still like playing it. It's pretty neat playing the different styles of Mario on the 3DS, I find myself playing it a lot when I'm bored a lot more than I thought I would.

At the end of the day it's still just playing cool custom console styled Mario levels on your handheld, which in my opinion is more than enough for a cheap purchase.

2016

Is pretty good.

To be honest these types of games never really interested me, I'd seen clips and thought it looked interesting but first person shooters as a whole I'm just typically not a fan of.

but damn i'm glad I gave this game a go, it's great.

there are definitely some issues but let's start with the positives.

The combat is fun af.

It's so fluid and you have so much freedom of movement, the entire game is just blasting your way through demons and it honestly never gets old due to just how powerful you feel, it's really satisfying. Especially when you get to pull off glory kills which allows you to rip your enemies apart with your bare hands.

The enemy design is also great, each enemy has their own way of effectively defeating them and they all manage to feel unique in their own way, same goes for the weapons in the game. For a game that's mostly about going guns blazing into every fight there's a surprising amount of strategy with the various enemy and weapon types.

The difficulty spike hits just right as well, the game feels like it gets harder when it's supposed too. As soon as it starts feeling a bit too easy they hit you with a difficulty spike.

The game as a whole is very well paced.

Honestly the most enjoyment I got out of this game was putting on some happy joyful music and mowing down demons. It is a vibe.

The level design in some areas is superb as well, mainly in the Hell levels, Hell looks awesome in this game. So many cool design choices I love it.

Now the negatives.

The story is really just not there. Like it's there. but it's not there.

It's a very simple plot that honestly takes a backseat to the gameplay which to be fair is the main reason to play the game.

The level design in every area that isn't Hell is pretty ass. Mars is such a boring place to look at and all the futuristic labs all look the same.

I thought a few checkpoint placements were a bit jank, mainly between areas with massive fights but nothing too bad.

Also when your guns run out of ammo they only auto-switch SOMETIMES, it was very bizarre and fairly annoying.

Besides all that though this game is pretty damn good. The gameplay is hella satisfying and it never feels like it overstays it's welcome and some of the level design can be really cool.

Easily one of if not the best first person shooters I've played... not that that's difficult to achieve but shhh.

I wouldn't say I'm excited to play the sequel however, I'll definitely get around to it but It doesn't feel like a priority, not sure I could do another 10+ hours of this lol.

Kingdom Hearts rhythm game... okay.

I mean it's fine ig. It is literally just 10 hours of songs you can play through. and the story is just 9 and a half hours of recapping the entire franchise which, If you've just marathoned the entire franchise, get's very old, very quick.

Only the last 30 or so minutes has original story so you can just watch it on YouTube to be honest.

Gameplay wise? I mean it's a rhythm game, that's about it, you know what you're getting here.

well I am finally done with this franchise for awhile.

Thank god.

don't get me wrong, I do love this series.

but fuck me I also hate it lol.

Wow, this absolutely fucking sucks.

I don't even know where to begin.

well for one, this DLC is basically just, "Hey do you wanna replay the final act of the base game and then do a boss rush and then do the most bullshit bossfight you've played in your life? then come get this DLC!"

You literally play, basically the whole final act... again.

Yes you can play as different characters, but what's the point? they are all so weak compared to Sora and you just wanna get through it quickly BECAUSE YOU'VE FUCKING DONE IT ALREADY, so going through as just Sora makes it so much easier. Then you have the bit with the whole group fighting off the heartless and Mickey goes one against like hundred and yes, I do love anime mickey moments, it was still literally just holding forward and watching stuff happen. Still cool, but bruh.

Then once you beat the final act of the base game, AGAIN. You go onto a boss rush where you fight all the organisation members... why wasn't this in the base game? KH2 has this exact thing, and it was in the base game. It's so fucking stupid.

AND THEN, once you do all that what are you greeted with? Yozora, the worst boss fight I ever played.

I didn't actually finish this boss, because after my 15th or so attempt I put my controller down, took a long look at myself and said "you know what? No, I am not going to do this".

Because sometimes in life you just have to say no and stop doing something you hate.

and my god, do I hate this.

I cannot remember the last time a game has brought genuine hatred out of me. Anger? sure happens all the time. but pure hatred. Jesus Christ.

This boss exemplifies everything I despise about Kingdom Hearts combat as a whole. Bosses with super armour, attacks that you can't block or dodge, imprecise controls. everything ugly about the combat gameplay that up to this point had been hidden by flashy moves and actual fun boss fights rears it's ugly head here.

and what makes all these issues stand out is one simple thing about this boss, there is no pattern.

every other boss in these games has a pattern that you can learn and eventually exploit, that is the fun of each of them. This fucker? does things randomly. You cannot exploit any patterns. sure you can recognise certain moves, but you can never predict what he is going to do next, and because he's the fastest fucking thing alive, by the time you realise what he's about to do, he's already done it.

Your only hope in this boss is to spam shit and pray.

I hate this so much.

I hate super armour on bosses. I hate having to be at the mercy of poor game mechanics and imprecise controls. if you're going to make a difficult boss fight then you have to make it so you at least feel like you and the boss are at the same level, and that the difficulty comes from his moveset and not from bullshit mechanics like super armour or HAVING A 5 MINUTE SECTION WHERE HE CAN HIT YOU ALL HE WANTS AND YOU LITERALY CANNOT HIT HIM BACK.

Such shit boss design. AND WHAT'S EVEN WORSE IS YOUR "REWARD"

you get two cutscenes from this final boss, one when you lose and one when you win and you wanna know something funny? THEIR BASICALLY THE SAME FUCKING CUTSCENE WITH SLIGHT ALTERATION.

I... I hate this. so much.

The story told in this DLC, is one third just a retelling of the end of KH3, one third Sora's journey to find Kairi's heart after it was lost at the end of KH3, and expanding on Sora's fate after he disappears.

absolutely none of it feels important. It adds so little to anything and everything, they could not have made this and it would've made no difference to the overall story.

This was so just a DLC for the sake of having DLC moment and I despise it so much.

I am going to try my best, and forget this ever existed.

All I have left is Melody of Memory. and this has honestly just made me wanna be done with this series even more.

Honestly just going to act like this isn't a thing from now on. Just ended with the base game cliff-hanger, the rest will be explained in KH4.

Listen, I like this game. But this fucker, has more unrealistic expectations than my parents.

The character selection is decent, the courses have a nice variety of realistic and mario courses and the gameplay is pretty decent.

HOWEVER

The difficulty spike.

when you get to the third tournament, what, the actual, fuck.

I did the first tourney 2nd try, I did the 2nd tourney first try.

I have been playing for 3 days, for hours. and I still cannot beat that 3rd tourney. YOU HAVE TO GET BETTER THAN -6???? bro the best I can ever do is -3 why does the AI suddenly inject some fucking roids and become able to two shot like every hole. I can't do that bro!!

The aiming can be so fucking inconsistent sometimes. It will give you the perfect strength you can hit the ball with and I guarantee you, you can hit that fucker dead on and you will either overshoot or undershoot your shot. and the wind mechanic, also inconsistent, you can do the exact same shot with the exact same wind and get two different results.

In games where the AI aren't on every drug known to man, the game is honestly quite fun. But when they are!? I wanted to snap my 3DS in half.

Also a lot of those star coin challenges are bullshit as they require PRECISION which, with inconsistency on this level, is just plain annoying.

There is a good game here. Just don't play the final tournament or the star challenges, and you'll have a good time.

Here we are, finally at the "final" game in the series thus far, and you know what? shit goddamn slaps.

I've heard very mixed things about this game but I fucking loved it.

A great ending to this phase of the series that ties up nearly all of the plot points very nicely.

I do still have my problems but let's walk through it.

The plot is good but I do have some issues with it. It's basically 25 hours of just funny disney plots with little sprinkles of real KH plot throughout and then the last 3 hours just hits you with every remaining plot point from the whole series, it did feel a little rushed but I did enjoy it. Very nice ending and again seeing all these plots and characters come together (even stuff from Union X) for one big ending was hella nice to see. I was so happy to see my baby boy Roxas come home. I love him so much.

Gameplay wise. this has the best gameplay of any of the games so far. It's so smooth and flashy and fun it's insane. We are back to the original style of play so no more command deck babyyyyy, thank god. Like i said the combat is so fast paced and flashy and so goddamn fun. We also have the new attraction attacks where you get literal Disneyland rides as attacks and it's fucking awesome. The team-up attacks with Disney characters are once again amazing. And the utilisation of different Keyblades is superb, It really feels like each one has it's own use here with all the different form changes each one can do, it's so goddamn cool.

I will say this is definitely the easiest Kingdom Hearts game out of them all. I even played this game on Proud difficulty and got through with only a handful of deaths and with relative ease. Was a nice change of pace from the constant rage lol. Also this game has some of the best boss fights in the series, I love to to see the immense creative boss fights back once again, there are a few that are a big basic, unfortunately including the final boss but most are fantastic.

This game is no longer just Disney as it picks into the Pixar toybox as well and GODDAMN, this game has the best worlds, hands down. Every world is so big and so full of personality and I enjoyed every single one of them, even the Frozen and Tangled worlds.

Although I gotta say either the Toy Story or Pirates of The Caribbean worlds were my favourites, they're both just bursting with life and creativity it's amazing.

Also this game is fucking beautiful. The graphics, animation, style, all of it is so well done and such a visual feast.

and of course the soundtrack is once again godly.

right, now for my few issues with the game.

the gummi ship is back and it is still tedious and annoying so that's great. At least they made an effort here to try and make it entertaining by having it be open world instead of on rails but still not great.

while yes they Keyblades are amazing here, each one as a beautiful design and I love that they all have different uses so one never feels inherently better than the other, there aren't many Keyblades, and you can get a couple from side stuff but it's mainly only main story and you know how I like my side stuff Keyblades but again the way they overhauled the Keyblades makes it not too bad.

I had some problems with the lock on system, a bit too many times it just would not lock onto the right person and it was very irritating.

but besides those things, man this game is fucking great.

I loved it.

I really have absolutely fallen in love with this series, I feel i say that all the time but it really is just the Kingdom Hearts magic, it's amazing.

I think this game and KH2 are tied for my favourite game for various reasons, I just love both so much.

now all I gotta do is finish Union X, play Re:Mind and Melody of Memory and I will finally be done for awhile.

for as much as I love these games, I cannot wait to be done with them lmao

Finally got around to finishing this and uh, yeah it's good.

I'd say it's a very middle of the road Kingdom Hearts game. Not as good as KH2 but not as a bad as KH1, it's a nice middle ground lol.

although to be honest if i went back to KH1 with my now love for the goofiness of this series instead of finding it alienating and weird I would probably like it a lot more, should replay some day.

Anyway getting off topic, Dream Drop Distance.

I mostly liked it, as there is with every KH game I have my issues so let's go through it.

The story is... I mean it's fine up until they start doing time travel. Then you lost me. Spoilers but yeah time travel... in Kingdom Hearts... apparently this is a big plot point according to my friend so uh, yay.

BEFORE the time travel it was nothing special but it was enjoyable, just Sora and Riku dicking around some disney worlds with more mysterious hooded people running around. Nothing new. I liked the ending though. These games do endings very well.

The gameplay is... well. It's the Birth By Sleep style of gameplay, or at least that's what I'd say it's closest too. It's not as fluid (or fun) as KH2 but not as slow and choppy as KH1, so yeah BBS style. They also bring back the command deck from BBS, and I swear to God, if they add this fucking thing into another KH game I am going to lose it. I really do not like the command deck.

There are some new gameplay mechanics as well. Those being:
Spirits
Flowmotion
and Dropping

Spirits are your new companions for the game. Fuck Donald, Fuck Goofy. You got spirits now. They're basically neat little animals you can make with materials that all have different abilities. Just like regular companions they can range from fairly useful to "why the fuck are you even here?" but, the main part of these fuckers is that they are now the main way to unlock abilities. Via a special skill tree that is unique to every spirit, you get new abilities and stat boosts for your two characters. I do not like this. Just give me ability points. I don't wanna grind for materials to make spirits and then spend hours training them just to get some good abilities, it's annoying. The spirits themselves are harmless and fun new additions... but then you added the skill tree and it made me sick of them.

alright so Flowmotion is the new way of getting around, you gain a special power aura and the ability to bounce off walls and spin around shit and basically just zip around the place and it is VERY fun. I love it. The same thing was in Fragmentary Passage and I loved it there so very pog.

Now, the main gimmick of the game is Dropping. So throughout the game you play as both Sora and Riku, each going through basically the same story but from different views and with slight variations. Every... around 20-30 minutes whatever character you're playing as will fall asleep (yes there's a plot reason for this) and you'll be forced to drop into the other characters adventure. There are items in the game that can extend the time you have before you drop etc and so forth but yeah. Honestly? I actually really like this mechanic. I've heard some complaints about it and I do understand why people don't like it, but I rather enjoy it. It helps keep things fresh so you're not stuck as the same character the whole game and it forces you to have some decent time management skills. Also I find it kinda funny that you can just be in the middle of intense boss fight and either Sora or Riku will just pass the fuck out in the middle of it lmao.

The only bad part about the whole thing is that if you are in a boss fight and you drop to the other character, once you drop back in, the boss is back to full health instead of being where you left him. Which is annoying.

Speaking of bossfights... eh their fine i guess. Nothing really special, all kinda generic. Ansem 2nd form can suck my dick though.

The rest of the game?

well i'm tired so i'll be brief.

The worlds are pretty good. We've got a mostly new selection here instead of all the usuals. The only returning worlds being Monstoro and The World That Never Was, everything else is brand new which was nice to see. Some of them are a bit bland on the level and world design part but some are amazing. Symphony of Sorcery being my favourite. That world is fucking beautiful.

If you've read these before you know I like my keyblades. This game has some pretty decent Keyblade designs but again, nothing special. Also the only way to get extra Keyblades here is through the story, no side stuff.

The only side stuff through the whole game revolves around the spirits and it's all pretty boring.

The soundtrack is of course, on point.

Overall? Again like I said it's good. The story is enjoyable, the gameplay is mostly enjoyable. Each world is nice and fresh and the soundtrack slaps.

The main issues just being kinda bland enemies and bosses as well as there being no side stuff or really any post game. Also there's just nothing here that really captivated me like there has been for a lot of the other games. It really does feel like the most generic Kingdom Hearts game since KH1.

But, I can now, finally (as soon as I watch Union X), get to Kingdom Hearts 3. My friend says it's her fav KH game so I am hella excited.

Also excited to finally be done for awhile lmao. don;t get me wrong I have fallen in love with this series but damn I am starting to get tired lol.

Fuck me that's a dumb title. Even for Kingdom Hearts that's a weird one.

Anyway, game good.

This isn't like a proper game, it's more of a demo for Kingdom Hearts 3 if anything, it only takes around 2 hours to beat instead of, ya know, 30.

It's a nice short story that takes place during Kingdom Hearts 1, showing Aqua still stuck in the darkness after Birth By Sleep and how she's coping. I say nice but it's actually very depressing for a lot of it, until her BFF Mickey Mouse shows up of course. Also for anyone who's been curious since KH1, this game explains why Mickey is shirtless at the end of that game... for some reason. They actually added an in universe reason for him having his classic design. such a Kingdom Hearts thing to do.

The combat is awesome, I'm guessing it's basically just Kingdom Hearts 3's combat which gets me very excited. The combat is so damn fluid and flashy and same goes for all the magic. The regular menu comes back from KH2 so that's good as well as the surge forms from Birth by sleep, so it's a nice mixture.

The game itself looks amazing, the graphics are great and as I said all the attack animations are flashy af which makes them even more fun to do.

You stay on one world in this game but it's split into 3 areas, each one being one of three Birth By Sleep worlds that's been taken over by darkness and they're all actually really creative with some awesome changes to the layouts. Also the boss fights are pretty cool and the whole mirror thing in the dark version of Snow White's world was trippy af.

Also traversal is now amazing, you have so much freedom of movement. I really hope it stays the same in KH3.

Overall this is a neato side game. definitely worth playing if you're a KH fan but I wouldn't say it's necessary, but again it's only 2 hours long and especially you love Aqua and Mickey then yeah, play this.

Also you can give Aqua, Cat Ears... 'nuff said

All that's left is Dream Drop Distance. Then I can finally get to KH3 and FINALLY be fully caught up. Hella hype.
