The gliding and climbing mechanic is super cool! They should consider making a game based around that instead of constantly trying to be like Animal Crossing without the charm.

can you maybe expand a little about how the game where you're supposed to climb a mountain isn't based on the gliding and climbing mechanics and is instead like animal crossing?

Yeah the comparison to animal crossing seems really superficial. Sure I guess its got anthropomorphic animals and fishing but its going for a completely different gameplay experience

Here's some tight gliding mechanics, now stop and talk to this quirky NPC so she can ask you to find some seashells, a busywork side quest that doesn't take advantage of the platforming possibilities in the slightest. Fishing, digging, volleyball, etc. it adds nothing to the platforming, and in turn the platforming adds nothing to it. It's just a very unfocused game that tries to do a lot in the pursuit of being cute and cozy and feel-good. Let's put fishing in our game, who cares if it's a bad fit, Animal Crossing has fishing. Who doesn't like fishing in video games? Cozy!

The composer did cite New Horizons OST as inspiration, and similar vibes, I wouldn't go that far the artstyle is it's own thing...God forbids you can break from the platforming for a bit and do an optional volleyball minigame.

You kinda spitting about fishing though, way too many games have fishing I'm losing my marbles (Frontiers is the only fishing minigame I liked playing recently)
