Overall, I thought Skyward Sword was a good Zelda games that does have some sections that seem to drag the game down sprinkled throughout the game, as well as frustrating Wiimote motion controls (the water swimming section of the game and the final boss battle had me cursing at the TV continuously).

Graphics are interesting, eliminating the cartoon feel of Wind Waker but sticking with a cel-shaded art painting type of look with more realistic characters. The dungeon design is for the most part solid but there are some sections that drag the game down a bit, including the sequence and how you progress throughout the story.

Fi is not the memorable companion to date but towards the end of the game I ended up liking her so there's that. Combat is very solid in terms of moves and items that can be used but the wiimote can be hit or miss (notice that I played this game with the wiimote 'plus' version for more accuracy but still had some annoyances in certain parts of the game).

I think Skyward Sword is the type of Zelda game that won't ever make any "best of" lists or ranks but is deserving of your time if you are a Zelda fan just to explore the unique sky setting and the way the game is setup.
