The main story beats don't hit quite as hard as they did in 7, but by god everything else is transcendent. MASTERPIECE

Honestly, supremely impressed by how much I enjoyed this game. Went in thinking I'd hate the combat after bouncing off Control in a matter of hours, but, I dunno, I found it really satisfying and slow-mo dodging was endlessly fun. Really loved the world and the twists and turns throughout, they also vary up the gameplay enough that it never gets too dull (though I think the pacing of the final 2 episodes could have been a smidge tighter, but I was so excited to see the end so it's understandable).

It could definitely be frustrating at times, but never enough that I didn't want to push through to see the next big set piece or story beat.

BRING ON 2!!

A really well done re-make of one of my favorite games of all time, was such a joy rediscovering why this ranks so highly in the gaming pantheon for me... Kinesis and Stasis are such fun systems that lift this above so many other survival horror games, not to mention how much I love the atmosphere of the Ishimura and still find myself surprisingly engaged by the plot despite this being my 5th time through.

Excellent!
