Wow man, just wow. I'm genuinely at a loss for words. What a masterpiece of a videogame. It completely exceeded my expectations. This is for sure my favourite Persona game.

The combat is great and as fun as ever. The music still slaps. The social links do have some stinkers among them but the majority of them are straight up the best ones in the series so that balances it out for me.

In terms of the characters. I still don't know if I like S.E.E.S. or the Investigation Team better but this cast is just amazing. The growth and development they experience throughout the game is so well executed. They're practically completely different people by the end and it's just amazing to see.

The story is straight up the best in the series. I don't want to talk about it too much further for the sake of spoilers but it's an absolute emotional roller coaster. The final month of the game especially really ties all the game's themes together in an incredibly satisfying way.

Lastly, I want to talk about the ending real quick SO SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ONWARDS REAL QUICK

Going in I already knew the protagonist was going to die at the end. But that did not make the moment hit any less hard for me. I'm usually not the type to cry over a movie or video game. It's just not something that has ever really happened to me. I've come close though. But the ending to this game was the thing to finally do it. I just could not help myself. Everything about the ending is just perfect... From Aigis' absolutely beautiful monologue to the scenery and music. It's all left me absolutely floored.

I think I've said enough at this point. I'm so incredibly happy was finally able to experience this wild ride of a videogame. And I will for sure cherish this experience for many years to come...

Yeah ok, this game is awesome. First of all, I'm happy combat has improved from the first game because it was needed. There's more variety in moves, gadgets and upgrades which is great. That combined with the longer targeting distance makes everything feel way more fluid and satisfying compared to Asylum.

The open-world aspects also played a big role in making me enjoy this more than Asylum. Movement is very fun and all the open-world side missions and activities were enjoyable and had interesting stories. It also allowed more of Batman's rogue gallery to be featured in the game which is always great to see. I do however dislike how the map is shaped. It's annoying that you can't just fly through the middle section and have to go around instead. But that's pretty much it.

The atmosphere in this game was fucking peak. Asylum did this pretty well too but this game's atmosphere just screams "Batman" and feels just like the comics. Gotham itself also just looks perfect. That combined with the great soundtrack elevates it to another level for me.

God the story is also just so fucking good. The variety of villains featured in it is awesome and it never feels like it drags or loses focus at any point. The ending is also fantastic but you probably knew that already.

So yeah overall phenomenal game. It's about even with Spider-Man PS4 for me. And I do not say that lightly cuz I fucking love that game. Glad I finally played this.

It took me a while to finally get to this one but wow I was missing out. This game is incredibly tightly designed and paced extremely well. I can see where all the praise came from. The Metroidvania-style exploration and level design took a little bit to click with me fully, but once it did, this game became an absolute blast from that point on.

The combat isn't too complicated, some might even call it shallow, but I think it's fine. Not amazing but any means but it does what it's supposed to do well enough and is still quite satisfying overall. The way stealth was utilized was fantastic
in my opinion and fit Batman perfectly, and if there is one thing that both it and the combat managed to accomplish it's that they both made you feel like an intimidating badass. Which to me is good enough. I do however hope that the sequels end up expanding on this aspect of the game a good amount more. But I guess I'll find out if they did when I get to them.

Does this game have its less fun moments here and there? Sure! For example, the part in Killer Croc's lair felt like it went on a bit too long. Even if I did love how horrifying that section felt. Another example of a part that dragged a bit for me was the 2nd and 3rd Scarecrow segments. They were cool on a visual level but overstayed the welcome a bit at times in my opinion. Overall though the game is very consistent in its quality and has great pacing.

My biggest complaint is that I feel like there could have been just a bit more of everything. A couple more different gadgets, more extra moves added to combat throughout the game and other stuff like that. Aside from that I also would have liked the game to be a little less linear and I'm hoping the sequels end up delivering for me in that aspect. But I can also see why that could lead to the game being less tightly designed and well-paced in certain areas. Aside from that though this game thoroughly exceeded my expectations! And I can't wait to play Arkham City next!
