The "smash bros of indie games" that has a great roster to remind you of all the other good games you could be playing instead

Dreadful checkpointing, nonsense plot. Ripping of the style of Bioshock is good for a star and a half, wish it brought anything else compelling to the table

Way too long, but fun until I decided I was done with it.

Deducting a full star for the most atrocious dialog in a game that isn't Guacamelee 2

Fun side story, well written ending. Glad it gave me a reason to revisit Night City

Dreadful. Made it about 30 minutes before uninstalling

This was the first basketball game I ever got for a console, because Lebron's rookie season needed to be a championship year in my mind. I remember liking it a lot

Did not finish. Between this and Sommerville I'm forced to consider that making puzzle platformers is hard to do and Playdead's success is more impressive than I had previously thought

I played pretty chaotically and felt rewarded for making the choices that I did. Made me want to start the Dark Pictures series

It's a Zuma clone and a perfectly acceptable one

Much better than I expected, fun little shooter to kill some time with

Solid pokemon-style RPG. I was skeptical going in since no games have come close to replicating Pokemon's success but this game manages to give me most of what I want from a game of this type. The story tries do tackle themes that are a bit headier than it can handle but I respect the ambition.

After Slay the Spire and Monster Train this is my next favorite of the roguelike deckbuilder genre. Very atmospheric art as well

I participated in the cultural event of blaseball. The commissioner did a great job. I feel like it will never match the highs of the first era, but this game gave me a healthy outlet in the middle of the pandemic.

A game that weaves its mechanics and themes together effortlessly, and one that moved me deeply when I realized what the developers were saying.
