fundamentally broken and horribly designed

great soundtrack. abysmal everything else. shallow despair porn that's so unbelievably extreme it ends up being unintentionally hilarious instead

first hour or two is really promising. falls off hard after that. boring as shit and the conclusion is the dumbest thing i've ever seen

played up until chapter 7. really boring, horribly paced vn with grating characters who make stupid decisions constantly

i had this as a kid. it's just a few flash games that you can finish in like 10 minutes. pretty crappy even for its demographic

why didn't they call it the HELL copter

0/10

great soundtrack. has cool ideas and a very weird/uncanny charm to it, but the execution is really sloppy

2001

there's some pretty neat ideas here and an interesting (surprisingly elaborate) control scheme, but the level design sucks my nuts. maybe i'll try it again later and give it a fairer shot.

the production value is there at least. stages are just trial & error clusterfucks with barely any enemies in the entire game

the bad ending is pretty god tier though

this game is a pile of shit, but it's pretty funny so i want to beat it anyway. i come back to it once every month or so, play it for about 20 minutes, and then turn it off only to repeat the cycle.

i will beat cosmic fantasy 2

gameplay is improved in a few ways from smt iv thanks to a revised skill affinity system, but that's overshadowed by how many things it does wrong instead:

1. no consequences for death
2. smirk mechanic trivializes battles
3. tons of needless backtracking through dungeons
4. ai controlled partners essentially play the game for you
5. abysmal story/characters
6. somehow even easier than smt iv
...and much more

probably the most disappointing game i've ever played

it's funny how much this game fucks with you just for the sake of it, but that doesn't make it well designed
