The final boss did not need to be that hard.

Very enjoyable beginning and middle, but the ending was like watching someone fumble and drop a priceless vase. Committed to moral ambiguity to the point of being vindictive.

A dramatic improvement over BOTW, which was already one of my favourite games. Just a joy to play. Probably perfect.

I reached a point where Joel pointed out how close they were to finally reaching the hospital, and suddenly realised I was in no way ready to part with these characters. A sign of a great work.

The difficulty spikes make the challenge-topography of this game like going from the depths of the ocean to summiting Everest. Still fun.

The emotional equivalent of a steel chair to the back of the head. What a game.

This never quite high the heights of the original Bioshock, but that's going to come down to personal taste. Gameplay wise, this is the better game.

Really interesting, but perhaps one of the games from this era that has aged worst. The Windows 10 port is marred by technical issues, which doesn't help.

If you only play one JRPG in your life, play this.

And they were roommates.

God, what a game. Soaked in its antecedents but maintaining a clear sense of identity throughout. No words could express the emotional impact of this game, but I will simply say that as a work of art, it achieves a level of quality few other works have, in my view. Perhaps the best game I've ever played, and certainly in the top five.

In my opinion, the definitive way to play this game nowadays. I love the atmosphere and music of the original, but the controls were just never quite right for me. This version improves on it in almost every possible way.

Far, far better than its predecessor and direct prequel DSI. Extremely satisfying to play, with some of the hypest boss fights I've ever experienced. Something about these games always doesn't quite connect with me on some level - these will never be in my top ten - but a great game nonetheless.

Short but sweet. More action-packed an anime-esque than 2, and therefore less scary, but your enjoyment will really be determined by what you're looking for - either a somewhat goofy action game, without the absurd excess of 4, or a more straight-faced horror game.

A really satisfying blend of twisting, surprising plot and solid, hectic combat. It could perhaps have done with some smoothing out of difficulty hiccups (normal is ridiculously easy, while hard is too frustrating), but this is a game carried by its story, and what a story it is.
