COWABUNGA BITCHES

Dotemu drops yet another banger here, but at this point that's to be expected. 6-player multiplayer is incredible and while hectic to the point where it's hard to even see what's happening you can do some insane combos with your squad if everyone cooperates. The OST also goes so incredibly hard, encapsulating the perfect vibe of blending cheese 80s/90s cartoon energy with the hyperactive konami turtles arcade game OST energy. It's easily Tee Lopes' best work, and that's saying something. As for gameplay, while this certainly is no streets of rage 4 (which yes, will continue to be the golden standard of beatemups that everything should strive to be), it's still a really good time. My only minor gripe with it is that there's like this weird leveling system that keeps you from being able to do moves until you are a certain level, which is fine and all but in my playthrough I finished the whole thing without even unlocking my characters full complete moveset which was kinda lame. If you like ninja turtles this is absolutely one of, if not the best ninja turtles game out there hands down, while also being a very solid beat-em-up even if you aren't as immersed in the IP.
