You can hold a gopher in your controller. 5/5. Except I had to dock a star because of how much it dragged on towards the end. And another 1/2 star because getting platinum requires collecting every single piece of confetti (WHY?)

cave story my beloved I have beaten you several times over

2022

ohhhh I LOVE when I get to be a small cute creature in an absolutely terrifying environment. so cool

Jokes aside, despite the really simple gameplay I really digged everything else. Just wished it was a bit longer, but what's there was very well polished and detailed

1996

One of the first Pokemon games in a long time to hook me, unlike Let's Go and Sword which I barely touched. The glaring performance and visual issues did annoy me a bit, but on the upside the gameplay is quite addicting and has a lot to offer. I really have to come back and finish this.

As a programmer who loves playing with low-level stuff: why on EARTH haven't I played through this yet. I bought it, played the first puzzle, then completely forgot about it. Definitely very high on the backlog

After replaying every single mainline Kirby game in preparation for this: this is legitimately the best game thus far in the series, and that's not recency bias talking. The variety between levels really sets it apart from the 2D games quite well. The post-game content was quite a good challenge as well. Docking half a star since the lineup of copy abilities wasn't that great, but I assume finding ones that would work well in 3D was a bit of a challenge for the designers.

I never completed genocide route. not because of sans, but because of undyne. bad gamer I guess

Pretty standard puzzle affair, but very quirky and charming. A must-play if you've got a PPC or m68k Mac kicking around.

looking past all of the microtransaction stuff, it was pretty fun playing comp back in 2015~2016 but I don't think I can ever return to it due to the playerbase

I used this as an alarm clock back in 2011 or something and it worked so uh. 5/5? sure

you can convert dog years to human years in this one and I just think that's VERY important. also mario is in it I think

as a game it's extremely shallow and gets boring real quick, but the gimmick of taking photos to turn them into fighters was neat

one time I made a fighter that was a few goldfish crackers vaguely arranged into a humanoid shape

was good when it was 2009 and my only way of playing was via a PC caked with dust. it's barely recognizable to me now

it's like if gmod and roblox got together and had a child who ended up becoming a social outcast
